Lucasfilm is teaming up with The Big Bang Theory for ‘Star Wars Day’ episode. Ehh.
This is Madness: Clone Wars free-for-all
Today’s This Is Madness matchups. Captain Rex vs. Arc Trooper Fives and Mother Talzin vs. Pre Vizsla. Talzin, I guess? Mostly it’s a big old shrug for me.
IGN’s Eric Goldman and Dave Filoni go in-depth on The Clone Wars: Lost Missions

Video: Billy Dee Williams on Dancing with the Stars
As much as I personally loathe reality TV ‘competition’ shows, I’m sure someone will get a kick out of this. At least he got the Disco Star Wars theme out of the way early?
Jason Fry turns in Rebels novel
Jason Fry has finished final edits on original Rebels novel. The book is juvenile fiction and being published by Disney Press in October, we found out not long ago.
Another Star Wars vet, Ryder Windham, is writing a Rebels prequel novel that’s due out in August.
Theorizing on Filoni’s Clone Wars story conference sketches

You can hear more about the show’s story conferences in Rebel Report’s interview with writer Brent Friedman. And actress Jaime King talks about her Lost Missions role with Coming Soon.
Ron Moore and the argument he lost with George Lucas
Ron Moore on arguing with George Lucas. “Are you really going to argue with George Lucas about what Darth Vader would do?” The executive producer of SyFy’s Battlestar Galactica revival was revealed as one of the writers on the shelved live-action series just over a year ago.
Rumor: Disney already casting for Star Wars live-action TV?
Cinelinx reports today that Star Wars casting people weren’t just looking for folks for Episode VII, but for unannounced projects including “specials and mini-series.” (via)
Their speculation that includess the Darth Vader special we heard of seems off-base – I’d guess that’s more of a documentary/existing footage thing.
A live-action show is certainly not outside of the realm of possibility, though Disney and Lucasfilm have claimed that they’re focusing on Episode VII (and Rebels) right now. Waiting until the new movie era is firmly established – as Marvel did – would be the smart thing, I think.
Dave Filoni goes in-depth on The Clone Wars’ last Yoda arc
Now that the episodes are out in the wild, Dan Brooks at StarWars.com has posted his discussion with Dave Filoni on the official blog. The best parts are all fairly spoilery, so head on over to read it.
Filoni: Rebels is on “a more human level”
Dave Filoni is back in the Los Angeles Times, this time to chat up Rebels, addressing some of the fan concerns about what will be our our first real block of Disney-in Lucas-out content, how the show’s focus differs from The Clone Wars (“you won’t be watching those politics unfold”) and even a design element you might not expect:
“I know that Kathy [Kennedy] is a very big fan of [Japanese animator Hayao] Miyazaki, so I told [art director] Kilian Plunkett to look at his designs and what makes them so iconic and memorable,” Filoni said. That, combined with McQuarrie’s original “Star Wars” designs, is the look of the new “Rebels.”
He also touches on the Force (“a less-is-more scenario”) and, uh, fans talking about how certain characters will probably be killed off. (Guilty.)
