Episode VII is still searching for actors? Granted, this is second hand, but according to a friend of Brien Bell (aka James T. Skywalker) they’re auditioning for leads today at CalArts. Right down to the wire…
Report: Jesse Plemons looking unlikely for Episode VII
No Jesse Plemons for Episode VII? The actor is in talks for the Whitey Bulger biopic Black Mass with Johnny Depp, says The Hollywood Reporter. Black Mass, like Episode VII, is slated to begin filming in May.
Plemons’ name first came up for Star Wars in January; he was even confirmed as a possible contender (well, someone “we’ve talked to”) by J.J. Abrams not long after. Plemons, along with another actor THR mentions as probably being out, Matthew James Thomas, were reportedly in the mix last month.
Rumor: Episode VII to begin shooting in Morocco May 14?
A new rumor popped up late yesterday, but it doesn’t look to be a gag: Badass Digest is reporting that Episode VII will begin filming on May 14th in Morocco. That could signal a return to Tatooine, instead of the politically-instable Tunisia, but it could also be a whole new planet.
(However, as Making Star Wars points out, Morocco was only a possible location for A New Hope. It was never actually used.)
Meanwhile, Jedi News has heard United Arab Emirates, which has some history with J.J. Abrams.

Dominic Monaghan: Abrams’ Episode VII cast is mostly ‘unknowns’
In an interview with with Andy Riesmeyer on Ora.Tv’s Dweebcast, Dominic Monaghan reveals a little of what J.J. Abrams told him about casting Episode VII:
“We’ve talked a few times about it and he just said, ‘look, we’re putting together a cast of essentially unknowns, you know. We want to follow the kind of ’77, [A] New Hope type cast…. We don’t want to fall into that mistake of People going ‘Oh, it’s that guy from the thing!'”
Not a big surprise or a big reveal, but at this point, every little bit helps. (via)
Carrie Fisher: “We’re not supposed to…” talk about the new Star Wars?
Mingle Media caught up with Carrie Fisher Saturday at the Backstage At The Geffen fundraiser. Naturally, they asked about Episode VII, but didn’t get very far: “I don’t know that I am. We’re not supposed to…”
She is, however, working on a new show that she’s thinking about debuting… in London.
