- IGN has a refresher on the characters of The Clone Wars. Nothing the obsessives don’t already know.
- Mike Stackpole honored with asteroid namesake.
- Chris Trevas confirms to EU Cantina that Chris Reiff is indeed a second artist on the blueprint collection, not just a figment of Amazon’s imagination.
- And now there are Mad Libs. Great. Can we just have Sir Dan make some instead? Authorized games so boring. (via)
George Lucas: Indy IV is “just a movie”
Oh George. Love them or hate them, everyone remembers the reaction to the prequels. In other words: We know!
In less angsty news, on May 18th the Sci-Fi Channel will be airing the three Indiana Jones movies, along with a Mystery of the Crystal Skulls investigative special.
Indy IV – Ian McDiarmid in the cast?
According to Dark Horizons.net, Ian “Unlimited Power” McDiarmid may be crossing over from the dark side to the Indy side, with a role in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – reprising his role from the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Wait.. if he was middle aged in 1916, he’s gotta be quite old by 1957, unless there’s a flashback. and there’s some news on John Hurt’s role as well.
Lorne Peterson, home theater at Lightsabre
Lightsabre has two new features today – the first of a three-part interview with ILM’s Lorne Peterson, and a look at Steve Simon’s Star Wars home theater.
Daniel Logan’s con report from Germany
George Lucas and others elegize Arthur C. Clarke
Wired nabbed a few notables, including The maker, to pay tribute to the science fiction icon.
George Lucas, filmmaker
Arthur C. Clarke was a great inspiration to me. The breadth of his imagination has yet to be equaled. He will be missed, but I’m grateful that his legacy will live on through his visionary novels and his groundbreaking work on 2001.

Arthur C. Clarke dies
The author, whose best-known work is the classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, died last night in Sri Lanka.
Interview: George Lucas, media butterfly
Coming Soon and StarWars.com weren’t the only folks talking to George at ShoWest – Entertainment Weekly got to sit down with the Maker as well. Although mostly focused on the two TV shows, he also talks Indy IV and Red Tails.
Interview: George Lucas speaks to Coming Soon
Coming Soon gets to talk to George Lucas. He talks about The Clone Wars and the live action series, which we won’t be seeing until 2010, now. He even talks about the EU, sort of:
But there’s no story past “Episode VI”, there’s just no story. It’s a certain story about Anakin Skywalker and once Anakin Skywalker dies, that’s kind of the end of the story. There is no story about Luke Skywalker, I mean apart from the books. But there’s three worlds: There’s my world that I made up, there’s the licensing world that’s the books, the comics, all that kind of stuff, the games, which is their world, and then there’s the fans’ world, which is also very rich in imagination, but they don’t always mesh. All I’m in charge of is my world. I can’t be in charge of those other people’s world, because I can’t keep up with it.
“They don’t always mesh.” Understatement of year! But hey, we knew what we were getting into, right?
Right?
Video: AP talks Clone Wars with George
The Associated Press nabbed George Lucas at ShoWest to talk a bit about The Clone Wars. Not much of a look at any new footage, sadly.
