One million Potters!
Amazon has received a whopping one million pre-orders for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. They’ve lowered the book’s price to celebrate, or something. In any case, it’s cheap. (Though I personally recommend stopping by your local 24-hour megamart at 3am on the day of release… No waiting for the mailman!)
Tomorrow is Free Comic Book day
Head out to your local comic book store tomorrow for Free Comic Book Day. No Star Wars offerings this year, but free comics are free comics, and some stores will have writers, artists, and 501st in attendance.

Buffy #2 out today
No Star Wars, but it’s still worth going to the comic store if you’re reading the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer series – #2 is shipping.
Just in time for comic day, Scott Allie of Dark Horse talks to Newsarama about the new series and working with Joss Whedon. Revealed: They expect to go for at least 50 issues, and although Whedon isn’t scripting them all, he’s guiding the series and hopes to write half the arcs. Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man) and Whedonverse veteran Drew Goddard will be scripting future arcs.
Deathly Hallows gets covered
The covers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows have been released today, and damn if that first one isn’t hideous. Luckily that’s only the British children’s edition, and the rest are quite bearable. Also released was the British jacket copy.
The cover was revealed by Editor Arthur A. Levine on the Today show.
