Adventures in Scifi Publishing has a podcast interview with Timothy Zahn.
Force Unleashed totally for real
Lucasarts has annouced The Force Unleashed for a November 2007 release on what looks to be every major platform. You’ll get to play – get this – Vader’s Secret Apprentice. It also promises “multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity.” Oh, Lucasfilm.
As has been hinted at, the game is getting the full Shadows of the Empire multimedia treatment, including toys and “a full publishing program from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.”
The hype begins with weekly production diaries from Assistant Producer Brett Rector.
Out this week
On Wednesday, Legacy #8 and Rebellion Vol. 1 make their way into comic shops.
First look at True Colors
Blurb and cover for Karen Traviss’ third Republic Commando is up. The book is out in August.
Dark Horse trades appearing early
A fan found the first trade paperback collection of Rebellion – which has a March release date – in the wild today. According to Dark Horse Editor Randy Stradley, they’ve speeded up the TPB shipments. So if you’re waiting for any upcoming trades, keep an eye out!
Chat it up
Because I am a sociopath, there’s now a 24/7 Expanded Universe chatroom. What can I say? They asked for it.
Illustrating a galaxy
Nice hefty feature on The Art of Ralph McQuarrie.
Don’t bother betting on this pony
No Star Wars comics are shipping this week (grumble) but you can check out Dark Horse’s May solicitations, including Legacy #12, Rebellion #6, KOTOR #17, and Light and Dark, the fifth anniversary collection hardcover.
Get Legacy in hardcover
Star Wars Shop is offering an exclusive hardcover edition of Legacy: Broken, the first collected story arc of the way-way-way post-NJO comic. It ships in May – the paperback version is due in April.
We also get the news that Jan Duursema is scheduled to be at Celebration IV – I believe this makes her the first confirmed guest. (Although more are certainly on the way.)
Out this week
On Tuesday, head out to the book store to pick up Timothy Zahn’s Allegiance, a standalone novel set between ANH and ESB. Check out the preview for an interview, tour dates, and an excerpt.
Also out tomorrow is Zahn’s Outbound Flight in paperback. Meanwhile, Wednesday brings Knights of the Old Republic #13.
