Star Wars with occasional sarcasm
Gabri Jade attended a writing workshop co-headlined by Timothy Zahn last weekend, and on her livejournal gives an account of his comments on writing and some discussion of the current state of the EU. (Meaning, yes, possible spoilers for the catchup crowd.)
Gabri has previously documented the informal Karen Traviss/Mara fangirl summit at Celebration IV.
Not surprisingly, Cracked’s list of eight most needlessly detailed Wikipedia entries starts off with a Star Wars item. Their reasoning: excessive listings of non-movie characters might encourage Lucas to make more movies. Sorry dudes: too late.
However, I am disturbed by their claim that the Seventh Heaven entry they point to is longer than The Simpsons. That simply cannot be – for one thing, The Simpsons, being an actual show of influence, has a variety of subpages – one for each of their eighteen (!!) seasons – that Seventh Heaven does not…
I’m thinking too much about this, aren’t I?
NJOE has found what may be the publisher’s summary for Fury, the seventh Legacy of the Force novel coming out this November. The summary has not been verified by VIPs, but looks probable enough. It does contain spoilers for Inferno and Sacrifice, so head under the cut to read it.

Rebelscum points towards a new magazine, License!, which is doing some features on Star Wars. Alas, they get off to not-so-great start on their publishing feature (warning: PDF download) with the above misspelling. Did their web staff bypass the copy editors, perhaps?
Elsewhere in the article, they do mention something I haven’t heard of before:
A collectible limited-edition, six volume set, entitled Star Wars; Frames will debut in fall 2008. Overseen personally by George Lucas, and available exclusively through Sideshow Collectibles and limited to 950 numbered copies, the suggested retail will be $1,999 for each mammoth set.
And in the final paragraph, a hint at continued relations with Random House, of which both Del Rey and Bantam are imprints:
