Upcoming releases: Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

IMAGE: The Essential AtlasUpdated our Star Wars book schedule again… Random House is now listing both The Force Unleashed novelization and Making of for a June 24 release. (For the record: LucasArts.com has actual TFU game as coming ‘Summer 2007,’ which seems to mean August.)

We also get an exact date for The Essential Atlas: it’s also been pushed back, from the initial June to September 23. (June was getting rather crowded.)

Per usual, all dates are subject to change.

The Jedi Council’s top 100 EU Works

The Jedi Council (aka TFN) Literature Board counts down their hundred favorite bits of the Expanded Universe. Counting not only novels and comics but short stories and video games, the results are rather fascinating. Not that I would take it as anything more than representative of the community that created it… TFNers are strange folk.

You can read the list in context on the boards, but note that the results were posted over several days, and the thread has ballooned, as they tend to do. I’ve the top 20 below the cut.

Hasbro and eFX share high-end prop market

Press release time! Hasbro is taking on the production of “collectible electronic lightsabers,” keeping the Force FX name, while newcomer eFX will handle the prop, vehicle and and helmet replicas. (Which will “…encompass the entire Star Wars universe.” Perhaps that means we might see some EU items? Master Replicas had made at least one step in that direction.)

Hasbro’s sabers will be out in the spring, while eFX will debut their products at SDCC.

The internets are going apeshit over the news that Vader and Yoda will appear in Namco Bandai ‘s Soul Calibur IV. (Vader will appear on the Playstation 3 version, while Yoda graces the Xbox 360s.) The official site has the press release, and 1up has screen shots and a trailer.
