StarWars.com isn’t saying much, but they did reveal a new Obi-Wan portrait by Donato Giancola.
Dark Horse’s Star Wars comics for January 2010
StarWars.com has the January comic solicitations: The Clone Wars #12, Knights of the Old Republic #49 and it looks like Legacy #44 will be channeling the spirit of Swamp Thing. And for the trades, Legacy’s just-finished ‘Tatooine’ arc.
Making order out of Rancho Obi-Wan
StarWars.com’s Pete Vilmur interviews Anne Neumann, Steve Sansweet’s collection manager and co-author of the upcoming 1,000 Collectibles.
(The book isn’t out until November 17, which makes a hell of a lot more sense than last Thursday.)
Out this week: Invasion, Vector Prime is 10
Buffy is here to save the day! No, wait, it’s only Invasion #4, out in comic shops on Wednesday. Oh well!
But on that note, the TFN boards are celebrating ten years of the New Jedi Order. Grab your favorite womb spore and… uhh… err… Chewbacca! Damn it. Sorry, I’m just not up to this one.
Changes afoot for the Fate of the Jedi paperbacks
UPDATE 11/11: Sue Rostoni says that Del Rey is dropping the plan to print the Fate of the Jedi paperbacks as premiums. They will be the regular mass market.
Someone asked a question about the higher price ($9.99) listed for the first Fate of the Jedi paperback reprint over at StarWars.com, and today we get an answer from Sue Rostoni:
They’re making the books a little larger and calling them “premium” paperbacks — they’re 3/4″ taller and a touch wider. Seems to be the trend in paperbacks now. I don’t know yet whether this change is for all our paperbacks, or just the FotJ ones…
The format has been around for a while, but I can’t recall seeing it on any SF/F before…
UPDATE: See the comments for pictures of a premium format paperback with a trade and mass market.

Surprise! Star Wars sound, fight stat books are coming
Once upon a Galaxy spied two new Star Wars offerings from Becker & Mayer: Star Wars Sounds: The Stories Behind the Effects by Jonathan Rinzler and Star Wars Head-to-Head, a fanboy-friendly tome perpetrated by Pablo Hidalgo. Amazon.com has a May 2010 release date for Head to Head.
Pick a winner for the Death Troopers trailer
Suvudu has posted five finalists for the Death Troopers fan trailer, and now it’s our turn to have a say. Which one stands out for you? (Check back later this evening for my pick.)
EUbits: This week in Mara, Filoni will speak, Rostoni schedules, Irvine hints, Bohnhoff on philosophy
Namesake corner. Mara Jade is one of Crave’s ten female characters that would kick your face in. Uhh, thanks? I think. Also, apparently the Galaxies trading card game has another Mara card, yet again with art that I don’t totally hate (fourth row here, in wallpaper size and everything. Despite smearing their first offering with an April Fools, I don’t dislike it. One just gets a bit tired of the leather jumpsuit T&A, though it does come in handy for mocking up a cover for the faux smut.)
The Clone Wars. Dave Filoni will be appearing on tonight’s ForceCast Live.
Upcoming. Sue Rostoni confirms that Kemp’s Crosscurrent sequel will get a June 2011 release, pushing the Reaves/Bohnhoff holostar novel up to March. And Alex Irvine drops a few hints about what to expect from his Nomi Sunrider novel. And some people say there are too many big 3 novels…
The blogside. Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff looks at Star Wars as philosophy. (Psst… Googling ‘Midichlorian Rhapsody’ brings up this, filk fans.)
Wait, what? At first I was just rolling my eyes at a visual dictionary for LEGO Star Wars, but now it’s getting the most extensive string of bookstore events yet. Boggling. Well, I guess the kids like it.
Out this week(ish:) Legacy, 1000 Collectibles
A single, solitary comic this Wednesday: Legacy #40, the conclusion of the ‘Tatooine’ storyline. I find myself hoping that Morrigan shots Cade (not a spoiler: look at the cover;) if only to put
us him out of his fail spiral.
As for books, both Amazon and B&N are showing a release date of October 1st for Steve Sansweet’s 1,000 Collectibles: Memorabilia and Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away. A Thursday? Does that just mean there is no official release date? In any case, go ahead and start looking but don’t count on anything.
