Peter Jackson talks about the impending release of “ultimate” LOTR trilogy DVD release.
The “ultimate” DVDs will not have further re-edits of the films, but will include deleted scenes, a feature length documentary on the making of the trilogy, and possibly (hopefully!) bloopers.
It’ll be a couple of years, so start saving your pennies.

Johnny Depp won a People’s Choice Award for favourite male movie star.
Mr Depp is keen to appear on the UKs “Little Britain.” And there’s an excellent chance of cross-dressing!
Yun-Fat Chow is apparently joining the cast of “Pirates of the Caribbean 2.”
And, finally, Depp says that he based his characterization of Willy Wonka on Marilyn Manson. Okkkayyyy.
Previews start May 19 (yes, really) and opening night is June 1. It’s playing at the Piccadilly Theatre, which is a pretty decent venue.

… there could be one major problem for the super-keen fan. As yet, he’s not actually sure if the cinema in Seattle he is queuing outside will even be showing the film!

A nature reserve near Birmingham, which was one of JRR Tolkien’s favourite childhood haunts, will be renamed “The Shire Country Park” in honour of the author.
According to the local authority’s cabinet member for leisure, sport and culture:
“The Shire Country Park will help raise the awareness of Tolkien’s close ties with the city and attract visitors from far and wide, keen to discover the places that were such an important influence on the writer.”
What kind of dork would travel there for something like that? Certainly not me. ;)
I shouldn’t laugh. Especially considering the calibre of my German. But what the hell.
Here we go with bad “Engrish” subtitling on “The Two Towers.” Apparently Gimli will need to be “toasted” rather than “tossed.” And just wait til you see what Gimli demands that wolf bring to his… uh… “axe.”
