Given all the excitement over happenings at Comic-Con, it’s no wonder that we missed the new Dreamwatch issue #119 which features “The Ten Women who Shoock Sci Fi.”
Leia made it in at number 9. Just above Lt. Uhura.

Feed your con envy! The Star Wars Official Site is going to be putting up a webcam to spy on all the fun at Comic-Con.
Hyperspace Members will also be able to see video clips and regularly-updated pictures from the con.
That will be really lovely. I might only cry a little bit while toiling away at my desk in boring ol’ mundanity.
It appears that a birthday card sent to Harry Potter caused a bit of a stir in Missouri.
Since Harry lives in England and his birthday is July 31st, I guess it was appropriate to send it this early.
But the kid who sent it was 16. Out of touch much?
I saw this over on TFN, but I’ve discovered I look forward to seeing it every year.
It seems that Russia has an amazing Star Wars fan community. Each year, they gather in Saint Petersburg for StarCon to share costumes, fan art, lightsaber training and various seminars.
The summary of the most recent event is now online. (Yes, it’s in English.) The next time you’re whining about having to stay in a crowded hotel room at a con, just imagine sleeping on the floor of a kindergarten classroom!
And they just have a lot of heart. Star Wars isn’t all that well known in Russia, yet these folks found each other. Pretty cool.
Those of you who have been, well, a bit put off by the timing of your Hyperspace online subscription and the new Hyperspace combined magazine/online subscription will be happy to know that things have been adjusted.
You can now renew your Hyperspace membership and get everything you paid for.
Let’s hear it for listening to the fans!
That (formerly) erudite French newspaper Le Monde has apparently been debating the real meaning of Harry Potter.
I saw this on Mugglenet and found it amusing.
For those who wish to see the original French version, head over to Le Monde.
Considering that Episode 3 still has some additional shooting, many people were more than a little nervous that Ewan McGregor had decided to take a trip around the world on his bike.
Good news. He’s still alive. And there’s a website tracking their progress in the build-up to the upcoming television show and book.
Kinda makes you want to hit the road, yourself. If only there wasn’t that lack of hotels….
It appears that those Hobbits still can’t stay away from each other. Billy Boyd (Pippin) and Dominc Monahan (Merry) have come up with an idea for a buddy movie where they play two “befuddled” Englishmen traveling through the United States.
They’re still looking for money. Anybody have any?
