People News: Neeson, One Man Show, Authors

All you USA people go vote today, okay? This election is slowly eating away at my sanity, the least you can do is pull a lever. Anyway…

Coming Soon has talks to Liam Neeson about his new film Kinsey and the upcoming Kingdom of Heaven and Batman Begins.

Charlie Ross is scheduled to perform The One Man Star Wars Trilogy at Celebration 3.

In Star Wars author news, Elizabeth Hand (Scholastic’s Boba Fett series) won a World Fantasy Award for her short story collection Bibliomancy. Karen Traviss (Hard Contact) is active on forum.starwars.com and is currently answering questions in the Hard Contact thread.

Wherefore art thou, Lois Lane?

First off… Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor? DUDE.

Rumor mill says there are several candidates up for Lois Lane in the new Superman Movie:

Meanwhile, Cinescape says the following six actresses are being considered for the role of Lois Lane: Mischa Barton from “The O.C.”, Charisma Charpenter from “Angel,” Mia Kirshner from “The Crow: City of Angels,” Evangeline Lilly from “Lost,” Natalie Portman from the “Star Wars” prequels, and Keri Russell from “Felicity”.

Right off… Natalie Portman? No: she’s just too ladylike for Lois. She lacks the… well. Balls. Lois needs a harder edge, more brass. Hell, most of the girls up there are a little lacking. (Mischa Barton? WTF?) Charisma Charpenter can snark with the best of them, but certainly there’s more than one mouthy brunette in Hollywood? Hell, Smallville found one.

What do you folks think?

Chicks play D&D!

I’m not quite sure what to think of this, but Dungeon Majesty features four women who not only play Dungeon’s & Dragons, but allow themselves to be filmed in costume. (Sorry Karrdes – I don’t see any chainmail.) The teaser is very Land of the Lost. On crack. (via Metafilter)

While I’m here, apparently October 15th was the 30-year anniversy of D&D. Whoo? Yay?

And if while this has absolutely nothing to do with D&D except for being, well, another RPG, White Wolf has relaunched their popular Vampire system. This is notable as looking at the pictures in Vampire: The Masquerade is the closest I’ve ever come to an actual RPG. (Well, outside of all that WEG stuff I bought back in my fangirl days.)

Obviously, we need someone who knows something about gaming to blog about it.
