Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo is jumping franchise lines to pen The Essential Guide to G.I. Joe, due out next summer. (If you’re surprised, you just haven’t been paying attention.) For tradition’s sake, we can only hope he ends each chapter with some sort of deadly obvious moral. GO JOE!

Congrats to Pablo, and I trust the Essential Guide will have an entry for William “The Fridge” Perry, who trained the Joes in physical fitness while wielding a football attached to a chain.
…Seriously? Wow. That’s… Wow.
I’m excited to read it and I don’t even like G.I. Joe!
Go Team Pablo!
What with doing Transformers sketch cards last summer, and doing Star Wars as my nine-to-five, I have achieved the ultimate nerd trifecta.
Well, the male nerd trifecta, anyway. (Though honestly, I’m not even sure what the female equivalent would be for our generation… Barbie, My Little Pony, and Jem? Hrm.)
I realize I just implied I worked 9 to 5. Ha!
