Here’s a reason to get in on that Hyperspace thing, at least if you’re in the Bay Area: An email invite went out from Lucasfilm’s Mary Franklin to San Francisco-area fans for a special screening of The Clone Wars – followed by a Q&A with Dave Filoni – on Monday.
StarWars.com offers a first look at Rebel Force: Uprising, but the real news here is that it will be the last book of the series. I remember hearing at one point that the series was planned for ten books, but can’t find any official confirmation. They didn’t quite seem to take off with the fandom, so can’t say I’m too surprised…

A bit late, but no worse for wear, here’s what came out in comic shops today: Dark Times #15 and the penultimate issue #49 of Knights of the Old Republic. And the always totally uncontroversial issue of Mandalorians in The Clone Wars is back in Star Wars Insider #115.
The front cover was revealed a while back, but now StarWars.com has the back and flap copy. The book is currently set for a July 20 release.
The Jedi Temple Archives has what appears to be a Hasbro marketing calender that places a “TV Movie Event” in September. Best guess? The basic cable (broadcast?) premiere of the original The Clone Wars movie.
I asked the collective intelligence of Twitter, and (hat tip to @RyanPom and @MandyBu) we’re pretty sure that The Clone Wars never got a run on premium cable here in the U.S., which could make this the first airing on TV, period. Emphasis on could, of course, since there’s always the slim chance they’re making another full-length ‘feature’ to launch S3…
Access Hollywood caught up with the maker himself at the Golden Globes (he had the Jack Nicholson seat at the show) and – naturally – asked him about the Best Drama winner and getting Star Wars in 3-D:
“We’ve been looking for years and years and years of trying to take ‘Star Wars’ and put it in 3-D,” George explained to Access. “But, [the] technology hasn’t been there. We’ve been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen.”
