Out this week(ish:) Legacy, 1000 Collectibles

A single, solitary comic this Wednesday: Legacy #40, the conclusion of the ‘Tatooine’ storyline. I find myself hoping that Morrigan shots Cade (not a spoiler: look at the cover;) if only to put us him out of his fail spiral.

As for books, both Amazon and B&N are showing a release date of October 1st for Steve Sansweet’s 1,000 Collectibles: Memorabilia and Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away. A Thursday? Does that just mean there is no official release date? In any case, go ahead and start looking but don’t count on anything.

Gate Geek – Hee hee! It’s SGU Premiere Week!!

It’s finally here!  Stargate Universe finally premieres this Friday in the US and Canada.  The UK gets it October 6th.  (Cruel.)  Given the loads of good reviews it’s getting, I suspect that even those Stargate fans who are still annoyed about how it all went down will want to check it out.

Here’s a particularly enlightening, yet non-spoilery review from ChicagoNow.  (Do you know how hard it is to find a non-spoilery one?)  He’s so excited about it, he’s dedicating his whole week to it!

The cast and crew got to watch it on the big screen on Saturday.  They’re pretty psyched about it, too.

So is SyFy who is actually promoting it with videos.  And it looks like they’re spelling the character names correctly, as well.  Could this be a new era for SyFy and Stargate?

Can we get any more excited?!

Paul S. Kemp to write Crosscurrent sequel

The book will “build off of the events of Crosscurrent,” he annouced on his Livejournal this morning. It’s too soon for details, but we don’t know all that much about Crosscurrent yet anyway: It won’t be out until January. I’d hazard to guess that we won’t see this second book until 2011 or so.

UPDATE 9/29: Sue Rostoni has confirmed that the book is on the schedule for June 2011, pushing the Reaves/Bohnhoff holostar novel up to March.

Star Wars: In Concert coming to Canada

Ticketmaster is now showing a date for Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on Thursday, November 26. (AKA Thanksgiving for those of us on this side of the border, which hopefully means more tickets for the Canadians.) The presale has already started.

(Americans, please remember you need a passport to cross the border now – and getting one can take several months to process – so keep that in mind before buying tickets for this show.)

An interview with Ashley Eckstein, and while we’re on the topic of voice actors, James Arnold Taylor in the new Insider or over at Newsarama. Also playing? Seth Green!

io9 provides some bootleg-style pictures of concept art, including the a rehash (prehash?) of the Grievous/Obi-Wan duel above. StarWars.com has better pictures of the least interesting offerings (We’ll get the quality scans eventually,) as well as pics of Cad Bane and the clone troopers.
