Wacky merchandise: Darth Vader alarm clock

That image is clearly an illustration, but the concept is still super-creepy.

New for sleepy Star Wars fans of all ages is Sakar’s Darth Vader Alarm Clock Radio ($29.99). It’s shaped as an actual replica of Darth Vader’s helmeted head and includes an AM/FM radio, snooze button, full-featured alarm clock with three sound effects to choose from for the alarm, and an audio jack input by which kids can plug in portable devices and run the audio through its speakers. But beware the Dark Side: the time glows red through the Sith Lord’s eyes!

Yes, nothing says up-and-at’em like a disembodied head with glowing numbers for eyes. (via)

The Celebration I memories continue…

StarWars.com continues marching down with Celebration I coverage with the continuation of audio from a panel with creature effects supervisor Nick Dudman. And yes, there was a dance party, err, concert – Ahmed Best hosted the Jar Jar Jam.

Also, the Stooge put an idea in my mind last night… Could this week top out with a Celebration V announcement? The smart money for that would probably be on San Diego Comic Con in June, since it’s not actually summer yet, but I’ve been wrong before.

New comic day brings comic previews

I just got back from the comic store and just realized that I forgot to pick up Star Wars Adventures. Curses! I guess that’s half the excuse I need to go back for Free Comic Book Day.

But my real point here is that Dark Horse has come through with three – count ’em – three previews: Legacy #36, Knights of the Old Republic #41, and The Clone Wars #6.

And for the Brits, here’s a peek at The Clone Wars UK Comic #5.7.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force to parody Star Wars?

First: They’re still making new episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force? Secondly:

“We’re doing a ‘Star Wars’ parody that exceeds ‘Family Guy’s,’” Willis declared. “We skewer ‘Star Wars’ like it’s never been skewered before.”

Maiellaro, wearing a Rush Limbaugh EIB hat, complimented Willis on using the word “skewer” twice in a sentence. I tried to call his bluff on the “Star Wars” parody, but Willis just stared me down.

I’ll believe it when I see it. (via)
