San Diego Rocket Race is on Totally Rad Show!

YAY! The episode of the Totally Rad Show with Club Jade’s very own SirDan and Jawajames’ fabulous San Diego Rocket Race has finally been posted!

If you don’t want to watch the entire show (but you should, because it is awesome), you can catch Part I at 16:36-21:30 and Part II at 40:29-46:53. In the first part, you’ll see James introducing the race at the starting line, and Dan giving Team Totally Rad Show a bit of a hard time at the first clue stop since they were dead last. He had to push them forward in the race, skipping two clues to catch up to everyone else at the lunch point. Sorta.

In the second part, the guys continue to struggle and have a good old time anyway. The Time Warp at Jesse’s stop is priceless. They finally arrive at the finish line (2

Gate Geek – The Catch-Up Version

What have we missed while my internet access has been down? A few tidbits, here and there:

– All sorts of hardly-spoilery photos from the upcoming SG1 movie The Ark of Truth.
– Info of a definitely-more spoilery nature about this Friday’s mid-season finale of Stargate Atlantis. GateWorld finds more story details. The Official Site puts up new video that gives a bit more away than SciFi’s preview.
– We also have a new interview with Amanda Tapping on the joys of Rodney McKay.
– And there’s still one more day left to support Atlantis in the People’s Choice voting.

Beloved fic writer makes good

Back in the halcyon days of XF fanfic there were few writers more popular than Sheryl Martin (now Nantus). Happy was the day when she posted a story featuring her original character Jackie St. George, who joined Mulder and Scully on their adventures.

Good news! St. George is back (sans Moose and Squirrel) in an original novel titled The Second Line, which promises “corporate espionage, chocolate and vampires.”

And just in time for the holidaze!

Livejournal sold; fandom panics yet again

Yesterday, we learned that SixApart had jettisoned problem child Livejournal, selling the site to SUP, an ‘an international media company’ that’s been managing Livejournal in Russia for a little over a year. The new owners have grand plans, but what does this mean for the ongoing controversy with LJ’s fandom elements?

Though Livejournal Inc. will continue to operate out of California (with LJ founder Brad Fitzpatrick on the advisory board, a hopeful sign) many worry about the implications of a Russian company pulling the strings. Those of us jaded beyond belief are just going to watch and see where it all goes.
