The best movies never made. Lots of sci-fi, naturally: Disney’s A Princess of Mars? James Cameron’s Spider-Man? Weird.
I have one for ya: David Lynch’s Return of the Jedi. Although having seen his version of Dune, perhaps it was for the best.
Star Wars with occasional sarcasm

Lightsabre publishes the last part of their Rick McCallum interview.
So says Charley Boorman. The post-trip interviews are starting to pop up on the net.
The BBC confirms that Ewan McGregor did not, indeed, deliver a baby during the trip. Although he has now promised to do so live on the Beeb when he gets home.
And iVillage talks to McGregor about the trip. And ladies and gentlemen, we’re talking some fabulously wild hair!
Wow: Legacy #15, with the big Darth Krayt reveal is actually coming out on the expected date – that is, this Wednesday. Also shipping: Rebellion #9 and The Phantom Menace photo comic trade.
While I don’t find the banning of a couple of Harry Potter porn artists all that personally troubling, Six Apart’s bumbling reaction to fandom’s usual over-the-top flailing is not particularly heartening. (Though there are some hilarious responses.) Nor is the possibility that LJ founder Brad leaving is 6A a good sign. My advice? Watch LJ, watch 6A, but keep your head. And stay away from porn based on children’s books.
On the plus side, it did prompt a silly little quiz. And isn’t that what LJ is really about?
UPDATE; And it’s official.
Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman have completed their amazing John O’ Groats, Scotland to Cape Agulhas, South Africa motorcycle journey. That’s some 15,000 miles in 85 days. And they’re still alive!
There will be a series! It’ll be airing on BBC Two in the fall. Hopefully the rest of the world will get it some time after that. And there are certain to be DVDs.
Yes. I agree. Silly of me to go away on a business trip the week after Nerd Prom. So much Gate-geeky news coming out of there.
– Atlantis floats on over to a 10pm Friday time slot, starting September 28th
– GateWorld summarizes the rather giggly panels at Comic-Con
– David Hewlett celebrates the nerd love with an editorial on SciFi
– David also breaks the news to those who haven’t seen his fiancee in person that the Stargate Baby Factory continues to be alive and well. (So that would be in addition to Joe Flanigan, Robert Cooper, and Rachel Luttrell this season alone!)
– Producer Joe Mallozzi makes the SCB Campaign happy with pictures of the happy return of Carson Beckett
– More on the big, honkin’ full series box set and its extras. Y’know. For those of us who haven’t been collecting these for years and would have to spend a lot of money just to get those bonus features. (Not that I’m bitter, or anything.)
Stardust may not be out yet, but it’s certainly getting its share of hype. It’s currently getting a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (from only five reviews, granted) but Neil Gaiman is everywhere.
Really, there ought to be a band

How not to get your show uncanceled from Denis McGrath, someone who actually works in TV. And even if he didn’t it still looks like damn good advice to me. Hell, might be worth adapting some of that advice into other situations.
Every Siskel & Ebert Show is now online. It’s like my childhood in video form! (Random Thought: Can I attribute my +5 Fanboy Resistance to having grown up watching two men occasionally fight tooth and nail over movies?)
A search for Star Wars brings up five reviews – the Special Editions, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. (I’m not sure where The Phantom Menace is, but it may be it never appeared on the show, given Siskel’s death in February 1999.)
And while Ebert is made of win, I really do miss Siskel. While Roeper was the most palatable of the replacements they tried after his death (a lineup which included Harry Knowles) it’s just not the same.
