Gamers, GFFA detail aficionados, morning-addled fans looking for something pretty and brainless that goes boom, here’s a little something for you: The Force Unleashed trailer in HD.
Potterdämmerung Morning Bulletin
So we learned yesterday a possible source for those leaked Hallows – a distributor shipped books early. (Although it should be noted that the first of the ‘carpet book’ pictures – the full leak – showed up over the weekend.) Unsurprisingly, Scholastic says they’ll be taking legal action. Meanwhile, leak coverage continues.
And also…
- Top ten possible endings. Guest starring… Ewoks!
- Six questions the last Harry Potter book had better f#@king answer. No Ewoks in this one.
- Sydney Morning Herald: Let Harry Potter’s last word be his last, whatever it is.
- The Church of England sees Potter as opportunity.
- Fans already lining up at California Borders.
- Reuters paws at the surface of fandom.
- HP proves folks still read for fun. Danielle Steel’s 300+ weeks on the NYT bestsellers list agree.
- Nicholas Lezard for the opposition: “It is time to make a stand against Harry Potter.”
HERE THERE BE SPOILERS! YAAR!
- I say spoilers but there’s really nothing shockingly revealing here: The New York Times finds the book at a local ‘retail outlet’, reviews it.
- The Baltimore Sun also nabbed an early copy.
- Now this has spoilers. (At least for now.)
And here’s one for Yav: Hogwarts Professor, Thoughts for the Serious Reader of Harry Potter.
May the parody be with you!
We here at Club Jade always appreciate a fine piece of parody, and Maya comes through with a sidesplitting take on the “Order of the Phoenix” film. Click for a whole new world of “HELL NO.” (You’ll see.) No “Deathly Hallows” spoilers, but as most spoilerphobes are probably aware, there are no guarantees when it comes to the comments, so tread carefully.

Lucasfilm on Indy post-IV: Interweb Rumor
According to the folks at Cinematical.com, Lucasfilm has denied having plans for furthering the Indiana Jones franchise after Indy IV, saying that such talk about a three-film contract for Harrison Ford and a four-film contract for Shia LeBeouf are just Internet rumor. In response, IESB.net, which broke the story, has fired back against the charges that it’s nothing but rumor..
Also, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall speak about about filming in Hawaii and whether Harrison can still fit into his IndyWare.
The Fans Give Back
Apparently, J. Michael Straczynski owes a bit to the Babylon5 fandom for helping get the new DVD’s done. Warner Brothers managed to lose or destroy the show’s computer graphics, so they had to turn to fans who had worked up their own graphics in order to get the special effects done in time.
Hmm. Do the fans get any producer credit for that?
Media notices that cat is out of bag
The news that somebody uploaded photos of (probably) every page of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” several days before its official release date did not stay as buried as Scholastic and Bloomsbury might have liked: It was on the front page of the New York Times site, for one thing, and the AP picked it up as well. Spoilerphobes had better head to the back of the cave. Where is Sir Dan with his blindfolds when you need him?
Potterdämmerung Morning Bulletin
Why is Harry so big? Been asking this for years, but I’m not sure Gannett here has all the answers… Online fandom, certainly, has a lot to do with reader base and the growth of the internet, but is Jo Rowling really the best author of the age?
The series is also adding to the chaos of the Middle East. Harry.
