Poll: HBO and the live-action series results

IMAGE: HBO poll resultsLast week, we asked what HBO series you would most like the Star Wars live-action show pull inspiration from. The first few days were a dead heat between Deadwood and Rome, but Deadwood ended up pulling ahead with 54 votes for 46% of the vote. Rome pulled in a respectable second with 46 votes and 39%. Most surprising was 10% (12 votes) for Sex and the City compared to a mere 5% (6 votes) for The Sopranos. Would I could be surprised by which CJers voted for SATC… But overall, it looks like a lot of fans will be pleased (in theory) if Deadwood is indeed an influence!

Meanwhile, this week’s poll is now active. It asks who you think is more likely to die with their series: The Clone Wars‘ Ahsoka Tano, Last of the Jedi’s Ferus Olin, or Legacy of the Force’s Darth Caedus. Don’t get too excited: It’ll only run through Sunday night.

  1. You will probably not be surprised that I was one of the SATC voters. I want a series all about Coruscant shoe stores.

  2. Rome would be better, man. Then we could get the perspective of both the little guys and the elite, and no one would get their panties in a twist over any canon inacuracies, because historical accuracy isn’t the point of Rome!

  3. Four single gals trying to make their way in Imperial Coruscant… I could totally see it. But I’m mostly surprised The Sopranos did so badly, as it’s probably the most popular HBO show on the list. Maybe the finale left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth?

I loved Rome, and I’m really wary of the show being all about bounty hunters and Hutts on the Outer Rim (yawn) so I’d like to get a little of the upper class/lower class action. I’m not expecting the Emperor’s neice to suddenly start bedding Tarkin or anything, but I’m sure there’s something that could be done with the upper crust of Coruscant.

On the other hand, now I’m seeing Polly Walker as Daala, and I don’t really want to go there, either.
