Captain America to challenge Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Yes Marvel and DC movies will face off directly at the box office on May 6, 2016 with the third Captain America film and the Man of Steel sequel both opening the same weekend. Is Marvel’s head start and higher quality enough to take down DC’s three biggest names? All I know is that I’ll probably be seeing the one that’s not directed by Zack Snyder first.
Wonder Woman: Erika Peterman demands a Wonder Woman movie on the CNN Geek Out! blog. The co-founder of Girls-Gone-Geek.com addresses different theories as to why we haven’t gotten one yet: lack of a good story? Finding the right costume? Having an action movie led by a female? Battlestar Galactica: There’s talk that the upcoming BSG prequel series, Blood and Chrome, may end up a web series instead of airing on Syfy. Because they need more airtime for paranormal researching wrestlers. Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome focuses on a young William Adama during the first Cylon war.
Comics: Angel, the vampire with a soul, returns to Dark Horse Comics with this week’s release of Angel & Faith #1. Community finale throws in some Star Wars. The sitcom’s second-season finale last night had a fair share of Star Wars references. ‘For a Few Paintballs More’ is now online, but you’ll want to watch part 1 – the full-on Western pastiche ‘Fistful of Paintballs’. (And if you haven’t seen their first paintball episode, last year’s ‘Modern Warfare’ yet… You should.)
NBC declines David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman. The network didn’t pick up the pilot, which starred Friday Night Lights’ Adrianne Palicki in the title role. Image leaks (both intentional and unintentional) failed to excite the cranky denizens of the internet, but more importantly, the pilot earned mixed reviews from test audiences.
Don’t try this at home. ‘Batman’ was arrested earlier this week in in Petoskey, Michigan.
Naturally. There’s been at least one official Star Wars cookbook, so of course Star Trek has one, too.
Surprise! Despite earlier reports that the show has been shelved, Deadline reports today that David E. Kelly’s Wonder Woman pilot has been given the green light over at NBC. Now we can officially start to worry if ‘the Ally McBeal guy’ can pull it off.
