Directly after ROTJ is Truce at Bakura. It’s an okay book, but I would really recommend that you start with the Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command.) They start five years after ROTJ, but they were the first published to really go beyond the movies, and they form the foundation of the modern Expanded Universe. And they’re some of the best as well.
