GateWorld got the scoop. Here’s the big casting announcement for Stargate Atlantis, Season 5:
- Robert Picardo’s Richard Woolsey is joining the cast as a regular; taking over as commander of the expedition. (Oh, I can’t wait for Sheppard to react to that one!)
- The Save Carson Beckett Campaign has won a major battle, if not perhaps the war. Paul McGillion will be appearing in five episodes in the upcoming season. Jewel Staite will be a regular, so that gives further mystery to just how Carson Beckett will be coming back.
- Of great happiness to SG1 fans: Michael Shanks (Dr. Jackson) will be doing a guest role and, as reported yesterday, Amanda Tapping will still be back for a few episodes.
Let the excitement and speculation begin!

I don’t think so. Joe Mallozzi has seemed to imply that it’s not a Replicator thing.
