Has it been 38 minutes, already?

Do you hear that sound? It’s the agonized screams of Stargate fans who keep getting stunned by the massive reset in their franchise. (For those who don’t watch, 38 minutes is the length of time a stargate can stay open before it resets.)

New interviews have been posted on the official video website of Stargate in which the producers reveal several stunning developments in both casting and the future of the franchise.

Apparently, the producers don’t seem to realize how poorly fandom reacts to change. (And given the way they’ve handled past changes in the show, can anyone blame the fans for spazzing?) Those who are feeling desperate should know that mental health resources are out there and available for you….

Firstly, the interview with producer Brad Wright revealed tons. Since it’s an hour long, GateWorld very kindly summarized the highlights:

The SG1 series finale plotline

The titles of the two Stargate SG1 movies

Tori Higginson joins Paul McGillion in the recurring character stable

Robert Cooper, another executive producer, also talks about these changes, as well as the news that Richard Dean Anderson has been approached to return to SG1 in the new movies.

Then actor David Hewlett reveals that Amanda Tapping (aka Samantha Carter) will be in 14 episodes during SGA’s Season 4.

In another medium entirely, Joe Flanigan reveals a Season 4 storyline to Starburst Magazine.
