New year, new blog

OH HI I UPGRADED YOUR RAMIt’s not quite the new year yet, but switching over the blog after a few drinks didn’t seem like the wisest course I could take. (CJers, see the list for user instructions.)

There are still some issues, but it seems to be working… And now you know why posting over the last few months has been rather sparse!

Caveat Collector

If you can’t trust Christie’s, than who can you trust?

Apparently a super Trek fan was duped when he bought what he thought was the famous Next Gen poker setup from Christie’s Auction House. When he asked Brent Spiner (Data) to autograph the visor, Brent informed the poor guy that he had told Paramount that he had taken the only one used. But Paramount still sold them. (via)

These are the continuing lawsuits of the starship Enterprise…

Eighth Potter book?

JK Rowling told Time magazine that she hasn’t ruled out an eighth book in the Harry Potter series.

“If – and it’s a big if – I ever write an eighth book, I doubt that Harry would be the central character. I feel I’ve already told his story,” she said. “But these are big ifs. Let’s give it 10 years.”

Anyone else thinking prequel?

JKR has also updated her official site with a chart showing some of the marriages and spawnings of many of the characters (get to it by clicking the pink eraser and then the door handle). George hooked up with Angelina, it’s James Sirius Potter and Charlie never married (and the slashers rejoiced!).

The catchup: Friday morning reading list

Bling bling!George Lucas still is still raking in the cash – He’s #1 on Forbes’ list of the Biggest Celebrity Paydays of 2007 for Hasbro’s $200 million stock buy back.

Out this week, continued

Dark Horse: UR DOIN IT WRONGIndeed, Diamond does list Knights of the Old Republic #24 as shipping on Friday. And the wearisome Luke/Mara mush fans will be happy to learn that the latest 30th Anniversary hardcover, 1999’s Union, will also be gracing comic store shelves. Alas, the cover is still the one that caused at least half of Club Jade to flinch in embarrassment the first time around. Just remember: Underneath the horrid cover lies Stackpole. And butt bows. But mostly Stackpole.

And back to KOTOR, Dark Horse posted the preview for #24 today.
