The final story arc of season five for Star Wars: The Clone Wars begins this Saturday, with ‘Sabotage’. A blast within the Jedi Temple has Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano leading the investigation. Meanwhile, public opinion about the Jedi in the war has started to turn against the defenders of the Republic. In the top clip, the Jedi Council members let our crime-solving heroes know that it very well could be one of their fellow Jedi behind the attack. In the clip below, Anakin and Ahsoka are up to their usual tricks, dealing with buzz droids on Cato Neimoidia, in a scene that foreshadows the opening of Revenge of the Sith. And the final clip in this post is a trailer for the entire story arc, focusing on Ahsoka getting into trouble.
‘Sabotage’ kicks off a four-part arc of episodes, each with a Hitchcock inspired title, which was discussed in last week’s Google Hangout . Also in the hangout video: another clip previewing this week’s episode: Anakin and Ahsoka working with a CSI droid at the bomb scene. From the preview slideshow, Captain Yularen will be appearing, sporting a new model, while Rex might take flight.
The Season Five finale trailer:
And if you want more spoilery analysis, Lightsaber Rattling has taken the trailer for the entire story arc, and used it shot by shot to try to construct the final storyline of the four-episode arc.
I wonder if they’ll give us an explanation why season 5 is 2 episodes shorter than the previous seasons. Obviously, one could assume that it’s because of the Disney situation but actually hearing it from somebody within Lucasfilm would be interesting and much appreciated.
Other than that, the Ahsoka arc looks gripping and interesting, and for the first time in a while I’m really looking forward to watching the show.
They’ve moved towards 4 episode arcs, as their story ambition’s have grown. Therefore, they would need to add two more episodes to the season, which is probably not easy.
I feel there’s been some interviews were Filoni said he wants to do 4 part arcs only now.
