There’s one book, two new comics, two reprint collections and an Insider out this week. Tuesday, July 10 means that William Shakespeare’s Jedi the Last by Ian Doescher will be on the shelves.
First look at the Shakespeare take on The Last Jedi
The Shakespeare Star Wars series marches on with William Shakespeare’s Jedi the Last. The eighth book in Ian Doescher’s series, it’ll be out July 10, and StarWars.com chats with cover artist Nicolas Delort.

Out this week: Shattered Empire #1
Just in case you finished up the 5 (!) Journey to The Force Awakens novels that came out last Friday, this Wednesday Marvel’s entry, Shattered Empire #1, will be waiting at the comic shops, along with Darth Vader #9.
And if you’re sick of all that serious(ish) storytelling, in stores Tuesday is William Shakespeare’s Tragedy of the Sith’s Revenge by Ian Doescher.
Out this week: William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace, Darth Vader #4
This week the releases start on Tuesday, with William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace by Ian Doescher in bookstores.
Wednesday brings not only Darth Vader #4, but Marvel’s first collection of the old Dark Horse stuff, the that’s-a-mouthful Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Empire Vol. 1.
First look at the cover of William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace
First look at the cover of William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace. The first prequel Shakespearization, by Ian Doescher, will be out April 7.
Out this week: Star Wars Costumes, Shakespeare Star Wars box set
It’s likely today is our last big release day of the year, with Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy dropping, along with two reprints: The ‘Royal Imperial Boxed Set’ of William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Trilogy and the paperback of Martha Wells’ Razor’s Edge.
These aren’t our final release of the year – there’s still James Luceno’s Tarkin on November 4.
UPDATE: A trailer for Star Wars Costumes!
Out this week: Imperial Handbook, poster book
Fall is officially upon us, as two of the season’s big Star Wars gift books are available today. The Imperial Handbook (we previewed a spread last week) and Star Wars Art: Posters.
The third oversized offering, Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy, is out in two weeks, along with the Shakespeare Star Wars box set (they’re attempting some sort of cover reveal today?) and the paperback of Razor’s Edge.
The prequels will be Shakespearized
Shakespeare’s Star Wars will be taking on the prequels. William Shakespeare’s The Phantom Menace has appeared on the Random House catalog site with an expected release date of April 7.
Out this week: The Jedi Doth Return
You have a reason to go to the bookstore today! Out now is William Shakespeare’s The Jedi Doth Return by Ian Doescher and Crucible by Troy Denning in paperback, though I can’t exactly recommend the latter. Still, we now know for sure that it’s the last gasp of the old (post-ROTJ) EU, so if you’re a completist, might as well go for it. Or not. I’ve done enough judging on that book.
As for the former, Cnet has a look at a few of the images.
Wednesday brings the hardcover collection of Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows to comic shops.
Out this week: Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back
Out this week is the sequel to one of the few Star Wars books your non-Star Wars obsessive friends (assuming they’re drama/English geeks or drama/English geek-adjacent) have read. Yes, William Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back will be in stores today.
For those who like their Star Wars a little less literary, or their Shakespeare a little less Star Wars, there are comics. Dawn of the Jedi: Force War #5 and Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows #4
Our next novel is the paperback release of Tim Lebbon’s Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void on April 1, with J.W. Rinzler’s Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy on May 13. And the drama/English geeks will get William Shakespeare’s The Jedi Doth Return on July 1. The cover was recently revealed on Cnet.
