Wow. Are they going to do yearly updates, like the World Book? I’m actually expecting some sort of online (Hyperspace?) component/Databank revamp. Watch your back, Wookieepedia!
Whatever the case, Random House currently lists them as hardcover, with a release date as November 4, and the price at $75.
UPDATE: TFN has someone who got a few more details from Del Rey, namely that there will be ” full-color artwork.”
The new show will reveal the greasy, seamy underbelly of Star Wars,” Steve Sansweet told MTV at New York Comic Con yesterday. That lends a little more weight to the “Deadwood meets The Sopranos” rumors… Also, a bit on the production schedule:
Sansweet said the initial writers of the show have been selected and “they’ve had their first couple sessions working with George and [producer] Rick [McCallum].” So when can we expect all of this? “We’ll see it in production probably sometime in 2009. Hopefully the series will be on by 2010,” said Sansweet.
I’m just on my way out the door, but I’ll be updating our live-action roundup post later tonight.
This weekend, Steve Sansweet will be at the New York Comic Con to showcase Lucasfilm’s upcoming projects, including The Clone Wars, The Force Unleashed, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Will there be any thrilling debuts? Not a clue. But if you’re in the neighborhood, it probably wouldn’t hurt to stop by.
We’ve joked about eating Ewoks and Gungans, but this is a whole new level… Steve Sansweet reports on Star Wars sushi.
Home Media magazine has a quick video Q&A with Lucasfilm fan relations guru Steve Sansweet from the Wizard World Los Angeles convention earlier in the month. Steve talks about the Star Wars box set, Indy IV and Blu-Ray. (via)
Steve Sansweet cautioned TFN about believing the Amazon listing, but now the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia is showing up on the Random House site with a November release date, too!
Via TFN, who also have some possible authors for the Clone Wars young reader books.
The official blog has a roundup/transcript of Steve Sansweet’s panel, which started off with the Celebration Japan announcement (CJ? HA!) The rest of the first part is Steve talking to The Force Unleashed assistant producer Brett Rector, who confirms a few pesky rumors… Including one about the big dude himself. (Vader, not George. Sorry.) The second part skims a bit to an appearance by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, who talk Robot Chicken. And part three, with all the juicy Clone Wars goodness!
Shocking! TFN has word from Steve Sansweet about the appearance of The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia on Amazon:
“The last time Amazon did this it was for a book that had been killed six months before. Pablo Hidalgo and I are working on a project together. Everything else–including the sole author credit–is either wrong or speculation. And it’s too early to talk about right now.”
Polish fansite Starwarsy.pl has an interview with Steve Sansweet, andTurkish fansite YildizSavaslari.com talks to Shannon McRandle. (Beware of LOTF spoilers!)
