A bit late, but no worse for wear, here’s what came out in comic shops today: Dark Times #15 and the penultimate issue #49 of Knights of the Old Republic. And the always totally uncontroversial issue of Mandalorians in The Clone Wars is back in Star Wars Insider #115.
EUbits: Gambit excerpt, Kemp, Miller and comics
Random housekeeping. With two months to release date, Random House has put out an excerpt from Karen Miller’s Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth. In other news, Fate of the Jedi: Backlash has been moved back to the original release date of March 9.
Interviews. Paul S. Kemp talks Star Wars and Forgotten Realms with Stomping on Yeti, while Knights of the Old Republic’s John Jackson Miller is over at CBR.
Comics. StarWars.com has an excerpt from Dan Wallace’s Insider article about Dark Horse bringing back Star Wars comics. (The very same article from which the ‘prequel infinities’ confusion arose from. Turned out that the article is a multi-parter and the next installment will include the original Infinities and the prequel era.)
Out this week: Thrawn comics, Insider
Your comic or book store may have the hardcover collection of Dark Horse’s Thrawn Trilogy comic adaptions today. I say as someone who owns all these issues: You could totally do worse.
Also, the latest Star Wars Insider.
Out this week: KOTOR, Insider
Wednesday brings Knights of the Old Republic #47, but also keep your eyes open for a ‘Special Edition’ of Star Wars Insider.
Out this week: The Clone Wars DVD, Invasion, Insider
Look for The Clone Wars season one on DVD and Blu Ray tomorrow. James has already run down the particulars for us, but I’m sure there will be more coming. Also keep an eye out for the latest Star Wars Insider. Uh, it has a whole page on Thrawn?
Meanwhile, Wednesday means Invasion #5, which will be the last for a while. (It alternates with Dark Times, or at least that was the plan.)
Out this week: Insider (plus December comic solicitations)
No books, no comics, just the Obi-centric Star Wars Insider #112. In more forward-looking news (or at least stuff you didn’t read last month,) the official site has December 2009 comic solicitations.
EUbits: Blood Oath, Invasion, Rebel Force, Insider and Matthew Stover branches out
Cannot predict now. Despite the reappearance of Elaine Cunningham’s Blood Oath in the Del Rey online catalog with a 2010 release date, we still don’t know if the book will make it to publication. Sue Rostoni said yesterday: “Can’t say yet. Still don’t have the entire manuscript.” (She also answers some questions about the Crosscurrent cover.)
- Invasion. EU Cantina has an interview with Tom Taylor and Colin Wilson.
- Holostar. Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff on the Force and the light/dark divide.
- Rebel Force. Randy Martinez talks about his covers for the Scholastic series.
- Star Wars Insider. #111 has a Clone Wars cover (how novel!) and a peek at The Essential Star Wars Atlas. It’s due by the end of the month.
- Authors. Matthew Stover is writing at least one God of War book for Del Rey, or at least that’s what several gaming sites are saying. There’s something in the Random House catalog at any rate.
Out this week: KOTOR, Insider
The pickings have been slim this month, but Wednesday will bring us Knights of the Old Republic #42. Also be on the lookout for Star Wars Insider #110.
EUbits: Hyperspace fiction, Bohnhoff, Insider, book club and free Clones
The fiction is coming from inside the house! The latest piece of Hyperspace original fiction, ‘Death in the Slave Pits of Lorrd,’ is by TFN’s Adrick “TalonCard” Tolliver.
- The blogside: Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff on sidekicks.
- Printed matter: Inside Star Wars Insider #110 is a Clone Wars episode guide and an interview with Fate of the Jedi author Christie Golden just as her first book, Omen, hits.
- Fansites: The EU Cantina is restarting their book club with Darth Bane: Path of Destruction.
- Free stuff: Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist giving away a copy of The Clone Wars: No Prisoners.
Out this week: Fate of the Jedi, Legacy
Tomorrow we can finally all get our hands on Fate of the Jedi: Outcast, the first book in the latest post-ROTJ series. Also kicking off is Aaron Allston ‘s seven-city book tour in Lexington. And be sure to check out the excerpt if you haven’t already.
As for comics, Wednesday brings Legacy #34, and I’ve also been seeing the latest Insider in stores. And TFN is reporting that UK fans have spotted the first Star Wars Adventures digest, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing them in the states just yet.
