Dark Horse’s November Star Wars comics

You show that Mando what's what, not-Aang!

The official site has the November solicitations, including the much-anticipated Purge: Seconds to Die one-shot. Also, Invasion #5, The Clone Wars #10, Knights of the Old Republic #47, and Legacy #42. There’s also the third installment of the Star Wars Adventures digests, Luke Skywalker and the Treasure of the Dragonsnakes.

And for reprints, a Shadows of the Empire omnibus and Thrawn Trilogy hardcover collecting the comic adaptions of Zahn’s Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command.

Out this week: Legacy, Adventures, KOTOR

Legacy #35Lots of booty for comic fans Wednesday with Legacy #35, Star Wars Adventures: Han Solo and the Hollow Moon of Khorya, and the sixth Knights of the Old Republic collection, Vindication.

And don’t forget that this Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, and you’ll be able to pick up a Clone Wars story, among others. Also, Henry Gilroy, John Jackson Miller, Ramón Pérez, and Matt and Shawn Fillbach are among the Dark Horse folks doing signings.

EUbits: Adventures, Kemp, Bohnhoff, TCW, Invasion, Threat of Peace

  • Preview: Take a peek at the first issue of the new Star Wars Adventures digest. Apparently some have found it in the UK, but there’s been no sign of it on Diamond so I wouldn’t go looking just yet.
  • The Blogside: Paul S. Kemp has thoughts on writing Crosscurrent, while Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff has two updates in her Padawan’s Journal series: Protocol Droids and Velveteen Bunnies and Mistakes Were Made.
  • The Clone Wars: Don’t expect to see a paperback of Karen Traviss’ Clone Wars novel anytime soon – There are no plans to release one, says Sue Rostoni. If you absolutely must have a paperback, look to the UK version.
  • Comics: DarkHorse.com has a new From the Editor, about Invasion. (Nothing we don’t already know, but we can expect an announcement in a week or so.)
  • Webcomics: Third and fourth updates in The Old Republic‘s Threat of Peace.

Out this week: Fate of the Jedi, Legacy

Fate of the Jedi: OutcastTomorrow we can finally all get our hands on Fate of the Jedi: Outcast, the first book in the latest post-ROTJ series. Also kicking off is Aaron Allston ‘s seven-city book tour in Lexington. And be sure to check out the excerpt if you haven’t already.

As for comics, Wednesday brings Legacy #34, and I’ve also been seeing the latest Insider in stores. And TFN is reporting that UK fans have spotted the first Star Wars Adventures digest, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing them in the states just yet.

EUbits: Deathtroopers, comics, new short story

The hype continues. Joe Schreiber reports that that the first look at Deathtroopers got over 50,000 page views. It’s officially big on the internet! (Plus he’ll be at NYCC this weekend with some extremely unofficial swag – the book’s soundtrack.)

Meanwhile, we have another sighting: Literary agent Colleen Lindsay, with nothing but praise.

Details from Dark Horse on Dark Times, digests

TFN has a report from the Dark Horse panel at Baltimore Comic-Con. Dark Times will be returning in 2009, I’m guessing in the spring, when The Clone Wars miniseries runs its course. (No word on Rebellion.) TCW digest will go on, and they also gave out a bit on the new digest, Star Wars Adventures:

It will feature the same animated art style of the current digest sized books, and will focus on the Classic Trilogy characters, including Han and Chewie. Look for a story from Jeremy Barlow in the first issue.

And yes, Crimson Empire III is still a no-go.
