This Wednesday, comic fans can pick up Doctor Aphra #3 as well as the fourth trade collection of Marvel’s current Star Wars series, Flight of the Harbinger, which collects issues #20-25.
Out this week: Star Wars #26
Our last comics of the year come in Wednesday. Star Wars #26 returns to Obi-Wan’s journals, while a new Legends collection focuses on the Clone Wars.
Out this week: Star Wars Annual
Say, did you hear, Rogue One tickets went on sale last night?
Wednesday brings the Star Wars Annual #2, which (of course) also comes in a variant cover. There’s also a new hardcover edition of the Revenge of the Sith comic adaptation.
Out this week: The Princess Diarist, Han Solo, Star Wars and Vader, collected
Carrie Fisher’s latest memoir, The Princess Diarist, is out Tuesday. It’s already created a few waves with her admission that she and Harrison Ford did indeed have a Star Wars fling.
There’s also two new comics and a trade collection coming for Star Wars comic fans on Wednesday. Han Solo #5 concludes the miniseries, while Star Wars #24 also concludes an arc. The trade is the fourth and final collection of the Darth Vader series, collecting issues #20-25.
Out this week: Star Wars Propaganda
We’ve got an interesting item out Tuesday: Pablo Hidalgo’s Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy. The book is written from an in-universe perspective and features brand-new artwork, including “ten removable art prints.”
On Wednesday we have Star Wars #24, Poe Dameron #7 and volume 1 of the Legends collection of the original Marvel Star Wars run. Also keep an eye out for Star Wars Insider #169.
Our next book, due out on November 15, is the Rogue One novel Catalyst by James Luceno, which will give us some background on Orson Krennic and Galen Erso. (The first excerpt dropped last week.) Check out our book release schedule for more.
Star Wars out this week: Ralph McQuarrie art, new Complete Locations, new Thrawn trilogy covers
It’s a big week for releases, with two large-scale hardcovers, a novelization paperback, one comic and a trade.
Tuesday brings a big ticket item for the collectors and concept art aficionados, the slipcased set Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie. James talked to the set’s three authors for StarWars.com. For those looking for things that are a little less strain on the wallet, there’s also a new Complete Locations from DK, and the paperback version of Alan Dean Foster’s The Force Awakens novelization from Del Rey, with reprints of two short stories.
This is also the week that the new covers for the Thrawn trilogy paperbacks are officially launching. Note that the new editions use the same ISBN as the old, so some stores may have older stock to sell out before these become available. If you want them for the new art, I recommend buying them in-person.
On Wednesday there’s Star Wars #23 and volume 1 of the Marvel collection of Dark Horse’s Legacy series.
EUbits: Post-Vader, Kieron Gillen sticking with Star Wars for new ongoing comic
Kieron Gillen’s Darth Vader ongoing may be ending with #25, but he’s on board for the replacement – which has been solicited as simply Star Wars: Classified. He’ll be joined by artist Kev Walker, who’s not quite new to Star Wars – he did a cover for Dark Horse’s Republic #55 back in 2003. The new comic, which will also be an ongoing title, will be launched with a number of variant covers in December.
Meanwhile, the flagship Star Wars comic will feature a Yoda story (via Obi-Wan’s journal) in issue #26. Writer Jason Aaron discusses it with StarWars.com’s Dan Brooks.
→ Ashley Eckstein is narrating the audiobook for E.K. Johnston’s Ahsoka, which is out next month. (via)
→ The Force Awakens novelization in paperback will contain two short stories: Alan Dean Foster’s ‘Bait’ (from Star Wars Insider #162) and Delilah Dawson’s ‘The Perfect Weapon,’ which was released as an eBook.
→ Tosche Station’s Thrawncast has officially begun with the discussion of Heir to the Empire’s first four chapters.
Star Wars out this week: New Year by Year, Poe Dameron #6
Out Tuesday is a new edition of Star Wars Year By Year. The original edition came out in 2010, but you can’t say the last 6 years haven’t been busy.
On Wednesday there’s Poe Dameron #6 and Star Wars Insider #168, plus hardcover reprints of the Attack of the Clones adaptation and Marvel’s own Star Wars series, with two different covers from John Cassaday and Stuart Immonen.
Out this week: Star Wars #22, The Force Awakens #3
In the comic shops on Wednesday, comic fans will find Star Wars #22 and The Force Awakens #3.
Book fans, check our release schedule for what’s coming up in September (Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie, Star Wars: Complete Locations) and October (Ahsoka).
Star Wars out this week: Poe Dameron #5
Coming to your favorite comic vendor this Wednesday is Poe Dameron #5, and the third trade collection of Marvel’s flagship Star Wars title.
