From a Certain Point of View’s final cover, author lineup revealed

Del Rey has revealed the final cover and complete author lineup for From a Certain Point of View, the 40th anniversary short story collection coming in October. The final additions are Kieron Gillen, Greg Rucka, Elizabeth Wein and Jeffrey Brown.

Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca will take over Marvel’s flagship Star Wars title with #38 – and most intrigingly, their first arc will take us to “the post-apocalyptic hell that remains of Jedha after the Death Star punched a hole through its mantle.” Gillen will continue to write Doctor Aphra.

Out this week: Star Wars #33, Rogue One #4

Two new comics, a trade, and a reprint will be on the comic shelves on Wednesday. That’s Star Wars #33 and Rogue One #4 for the comics, Star Wars Vol. 5: Yoda’s Secret War for the trade, and the second printing of Darth Maul #3.

As for the rest of the month, there are two books on tap for July. Christie Golden’s Battlefront II: Inferno Squadron and Tim Leong’s Star Wars Super Graphic on the 25th. See the more upcoming titles on our book release schedule.

Star Wars out this week: ‘The Screaming Citadel’ concludes

Two new comics and a reprint are coming to your favorite comic venue on Wednesday. Doctor Aphra #8 takes out ‘The Screaming Citadel’ crossover storyline, while Poe Dameron #16 looks deeper into the new villian. The reprint is a weird one: Called Droids Unplugged #1, it reprints shorter material from Poe Dameron #1, Star Wars #25 and Darth Maul #1. Marvel being Marvel, there’s an alternate cover version as well.

Out this week: Star Wars #32

Out today is Star Wars #32, or part 4 of ‘The Screaming Citadel.’ Head on over to your preferred comic vendor to find out why Han Solo is sporting Twilight-style vampire eyes!

June is pretty slim on book releases, but we do have a handful coming out in July, including the Battlefront II tie-in Inferno Squadron by Christie Golden. It drops July 25. I generally don’t cover games (for my own sanity, and thus yours) but it did drop a gameplay trailer a few days ago. Battlefront II itself will be out in November. (And yeah, I did put it on my personal calendar, so that may very well be the next time I mention it.)

Star Wars out this week: Rogue One on Blu-ray

If you’ve been holding out for a physical copy of Rogue One, Tuesday is your day for the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo pack and DVD. In the book aisle, there’s the latest Star Wars Visual Encyclopedia by Adam Bray, Cole Horton and Tricia Barr. You can get a preview (via our own James) at StarWars.com.

It’s a no-slouch week for comics as well, with Star Wars #30 and Marvel’s Rogue One #1 dropping on Wednesday. In reprints, there’s the A New Hope: Special Edition and a gigantic box set.

Star Wars out this week: Bloodline in PB

Tuesday brings Claudia Gray’s Bloodline in paperback. The book gives us some insight into the state of the galaxy not so long before The Force Awakens and was one of the best-reviewed Star Wars novels in years. (I gave it an A-.) Wel worth reading, if you haven’t already.

On Wednesday the comic shops will have Star Wars #28 and Darth Maul #1, the start of Marvel’s latest mini-series.

Our next novel is Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath: Empire’s End, out on February 21. Star Wars Books has recently been sharing images of the jacket and finished hardcover. Check out the full schedule on our book release calendar.
