Something Solo: A synopsis

In their 2018 media kit, Disney released a synopsis (but no photo) for Solo: A Star Wars Story:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story releases in U.S. theaters on May 25, 2018.

yup, still coming out in May. We expect a trailer soon. (via)

Solo gets his full name in Spain (at least)

This year’s Star Wars movie is Solo in the U.S., but will be called Han Solo in at least some international markers, per the franchise’s official page in Spain.

It’s likely to avoid possible trademark disputes, or perhaps to widen recognition for the film. It’s hardly conclusive, but we saw a version of this in what appeared to be a Russian leak last week.

No matter the title, it’s still expected in late May. (The 25th, here: International release dates may vary.)

First promo image of Solo leaks?

A promo image for Solo has emerged from the wilds of the internet, giving us our (presumed) first non-fuzzy look at Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo, Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian, whoever Emilia Clarke is playing and the Millennium Falcon’s new/old paint job. Lucasfilm has asked at least one site to take it down, so chances are it’s legit, though a Lucasfilm rep told /Film that they didn’t create it.

The images – one is an exact mirror of the other – appear to be sourced from a Russian PDF, because of course. /Film has a rough translation of the text.

Word on the street is we can expect official promotion for the film to start soon.
