Making Star Wars has a description of a costume for Poe Dameron – and, more interestingly, they double down on the Laura Dern rumor from last week.
→ MSW also has a (possible) detail on what Pinewood interiors the Dubrovnik location shoot may connect to – something we haven’t seen in a Star Wars film before.
Da7e at Latino Review claims to have some specifics about scenes shot at Pinewood with Laura Dern that reveal a bit about her Episode VIII character. This could definitely be spoilery if it pans out, so don’t click if you don’t want to know.
“Hard to believe we’re wrapping up week four already, it’s just flying by,” Director Rian Johnson said as he shared an Episode VIII set picture on his Tumblr this morning. The pic features cinematographer Steve Yedlin and the Millennium Falcon cockpit.
The Derry Journal (via Jedi News) reports that Episode VIII has scouted and may be filming at County Donegal’s Malin Head in May. The area looks similar to Skellig Michael and Ceann Sibéal.
Mark Hamill joined the Space Bear photo squad with a picture this morning of an “Exotic Alien Creature” – aka his daughter’s dog. Does Gary Fisher have a posse at Pinewood? Also: #Beardwatch.
Episode VIII director Rian Johnson marked the beginning of the second week of filming with the crossword puzzle in the International New York Times. SPOILERS! (For the crossword.)
Now, debate: is that a First Order control board or some sort of actual film equipment? A good catch by Justin LaSalata from The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary. (Note a lot of the Starkiller Base sets were reused for the Finalizer.)
→ Moviepilot is generally not a site I trust (at all,) but they are claiming that Danish actress Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (Pitch Perfect 2, Game of Thrones) has been cast as a Knight of Ren. Be aware.
→ I joined Bryan and Amy at Full of Sith for their latest episode, where we discussed what we know of Episode VIII (well, what we knew as of Saturday, anyway.)
Making Star Wars has a few bits for Rogue One: A name or codename for Felicity Jones’ character. (Remember, most sources for The Force Awakens were calling Daisy Ridley’s character ‘Kira’ – we didn’t hear the name ‘Rey’ until it was officially revealed just after the first teaser trailer, which could also be the case here.)
Last time we heard a rumor from the folks at Schmoes Know it was regarding an end credit scene for The Force Awakens. Will Kristian Harloff’s current tweet-scoop be more lucky? An appearance from Ewan McGregor as Force ghost Obi-wan Kenobi isn’t so far-fetched as to be out of the question.
Just like they did last year, Hasbro won’t be showing any toys from Rogue One at Toy Fair this year, per a statement from the company. On the other hand, we do expect lots and lots of The Force Awakens stuff!
