Rise, Lord Combover

I don’t know about you, but Star Wars isn’t going to make me watch The Apprentice. I already took one for the team this year. Screw Trump.

I’m more of a Martha fan anyway. That woman would make one hell of a Sith, and Trump is the Admiral Daala to her Palpatine.

And since yes, since there is TV that doesn’t involve ‘reality,’ there was quite a big chunk of ROTS reference – an entire conversation, even – on last night’s Gilmore Girls. I’m keeping my eyes out for a transcript, but for now let me just say it involved higher ground. And ranting. Lovely, lovely ranting.

Monday SW updates are DVDlicious

Clone Wars Volume 2 won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.

Dressing a Galaxy, an exhibit of costumes from all six films, opened today in Los Angeles. Probably too early to tell if the exhibit will tour.

Hyperspace members get a peek at the ROTS DVD. Meanwhile, the New York post managed to catch up with Lucas (Bugmenot for login) while he was in NYC for a fashion week preview of the costume exhibit, and got a few quotes about the DVD and the TV show. And finally, TFN reports that buying the DVD at Wal-mart will get you a bonus DVD.

Voice of Grievous and deleted scene make appearance at Comic-Con

Matthew Wood, Supervising Sound Editor of Episode III and voice of General Grievous, came on stage at Steve Sansweet’s Star Wars Spectacular and provided a demonstration of how he created the General’s voice, complete with sound equiptment. Fan reports have him actually have him singing a song – Hyperspace members can find out for themselves by listening to the audiocast of the event.

Steve also hinted at some of the content on the Revenge of the Sith DVD, and showed one of the deleted scenes dealing with the founding of the Rebellion. Certainly I’m not the only one hoping for an Extended Edition, ala Peter Jackson?

Today on starwars.com…

DK Books is doing Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide. Looks like it’ll be pretty extensive. I doubt there will be as much as the Sansweet encyclopedia, but who really needs to know all that much about the second guy on the right in Jabba’s palace anyway?

But what every kid (and more than a few grown-ups) will want for Christmas is the Ultimate Build Your Own Lightsaber Kit. Preorder now and save yourself from the Tickle-Me-Elmoesque feeding frenzy.

And finally, for Hyperspace members, the Set Diaries are returning. Now that the movie is out, Pablo can let loose with all the really spoilery stuff. Today, it’s the cruel fate of Shaak Ti.
