Torra is onto Kaz in Resistance’s ‘Secrets and Holograms’

Shockingly, someone actually gets suspicious of Kaz in this Sunday’s “Secrets and Holograms.” Also, some garbage!

When a determined Kaz tries to discover the truth about Captain Doza, he and Torra embark on an adventure where they uncover more about the Tower than either bargained for.

It’s race time (again) on Star Wars Resistance

We meet a famous racer with a connection to Yeager in “The Platform Classic,” Sunday’s new episode of Star Wars Resistance.

Kaz uses the upcoming “Platform Classic” to reunite Yeager with someone from his past, Marcus – who happens to be in deep with the Guavian Death Gang. After Marcus’ mechanic is kidnapped, Kaz assists him in preparing for the race, learning more about Yeager in the process.

What to expect from Star Wars and Disney+

Now that the streaming service has a name, the marketing for Disney+ has really begun… Along with some inklings of how it will work.

Per Vulture’s Josef Adalian, Star Wars will be one of the “five central content hubs” for the service (along with classic Disney, Marvel, Pixar and National Geographic) so there won’t be much need for Netflix-style scrolling.

We also know that they’re aiming for the monthly price to be less than Netflix (cheapest plan: $7.99). Disney’s ESPN+ streaming service, which launched earlier this year, currently charges $4.99 a month. So I suspect we’ll be looking at something that’ll run fans $5-7 a month. (And maybe even some savings if bundled with an ESPN+ or Hulu subscription?)

But! The content. What’s coming for Star Wars? Here’s what we know for sure, some speculation about what else may be in play, and what we definitely won’t see.

Poe returns in the next episode of Star Wars Resistance

The next episode of Star Wars Resistance, “Signal from Sector Six,” sees Kaz off the Colossus and back into space with Poe Dameron. Here’s the description:

When Poe and Kaz receive a distress call when out on a routine training exercise, they discover a damaged ship with strange lifeforms onboard…

The First Order comes to Star Wars Resistance

Since several episodes of Star Wars Resistance dropped with the premiere, Saturday’s “The High Tower” is the first brand-new episode since the show’s debut earlier this month.

Looks like the First Order finally makes more than a token appearance, with the red-armored Major Vonreg taking point – and we also seem on track to see more of Torra Doza and her father, Colossus station operator, Captain Imanuel Doza.

Check under the cut for a clip and more pictures:

No hosted recap show for Resistance

Resistance isn’t getting the full Rebels Recon treatment. “I am not doing a hosted show for Resistance,” Recon/The Star Wars Show host Andi Gutierrez tweeted overnight after a fan question.

Resistance does have two smaller shows – Resistance Rewind and Bucket’s List – but neither is quite as extensive as Recon was.

I have some suspicions – it’s possible The Mandalorian will get a Recon-like show and even with that not starting until at least 2019, it’s likely going to overlap with Resistance. Maybe Recon’s demographics was just old, long-obsessed folks like us, who don’t really need further encouragement. Or, most likely, the space and effort for a second hosted show is being filled by new kid Our Star Wars Stories, hosted by Jordan Hembrough.

Gutierrez continues to host The Star Wars Show with Anthony Carboni. Maybe they can introduce a Pablo-with-coffee segment?

Resistance roundup: Show will eventually overlap with movies, cast interviews

More details on Star Wars Resistance, including the return of Greg Proops, more on racing, and details on actor Bobby Moynihan’s character, who hasn’t had an official reveal yet. We also get some insights on why they picked the show’s timeline placement of six months before The Force Awakens.

“It’s a little hard for the younger fans to wrap their heads around it if it was, say 15 years before The Force Awakens,” [Head writer Brandon] Auman explains. “Then it’s a very nebulous timeline. You’re kind of not sure. The fact that we’ve got Poe Dameron and BB-8 from the very beginning — kids and any fan of any age automatically just know… ‘This is the new movies, this is where it’s gonna take place,’ so it’s just easier. And it was just fun to kind of roll in and back up a little bit instead of just trying to follow exactly where the movies are at.”

The show will even overlap with The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi… Eventually.
