Out this week: Star Wars books go digital

Tomorrow all of Random House’s Star Wars back catalog will be available in all the various eBook formats. For some, this is super-exciting… For others, merely shrug-worthy. In any case, there is a trailer.

This isn’t going to be every single Star Wars book – Young Jedi Knight fans, you are nubs out of luck – but as both Bantam and Del Rey are Random House imprints, this is the vast majority of them.

There are no actual new releases this week, but I did miss last week’s lone comic: Jedi: The Dark Side #2. In stores now!

Out this week: Latest Insider

No new books, no new comics, but you ought to be able to find Star Wars Insider #126 on stands today. This is the one with the Lando story by Timothy Zahn, so it may actually be worth picking up.

Out this week: New Fate of the Jedi, last Legacy

Tomorrow brings the seventh Fate of the Jedi book, Conviction. It also happens to be Aaron Allston’s final contribution to the series. At least we’re entering the home stretch?

Also out will be the paperback edition of Sean Williams’ The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance.

Wednesday will bring two comic finales: Legacy: War #6 and Darth Vader and The Lost Command #5.

Out this week: Qui-Gon comic launches

It’s a good week for comic fans, with the debut of Scott Allie’s Jedi: The Dark Side #1 in stores Wednesday. Also shipping this week are two trades: Blood Ties: A Tale of Jango and Boba Fett and the second Old Republic collection, Threat of Peace.

And don’t forget next week brings new Fate of the Jedi!

Out this week: Allies paperback, comics

The paperback reprint of the fifth Fate of the Jedi book, Christie Golden’s Allies, will be in bookstores tomorrow. (Be sure to check out Erika’s review when you’re done.) And while you’re buying, keep an eye out for Star Wars Insider #125, which features a brand-new Vestara Khai short story from Golden, ‘First Blood.’

Meanwhile, comic fans will have a few things waiting for them on Wednesday. Both Legacy: War #5 and Darth Vader and the Lost Command #4 made the shipping list.

StarWars.com also lists a few trades that may be making their way to the bookstores… But I wouldn’t count on seeing them in the comic shops until Diamond lists them.

Out this week: Dark Horse Presents Kir Kanos

Wednesday brings Dark Horse Presents #1, which contains an eight-page that will be of interest to the Crimson Empire fans among you. (Dark Horse gave us a sneak peek a few weeks back.) Crimson Empire III is due in the fall.

And since I missed last week’s release post, be aware that the second Invasion trade collection, Rescues, is already out.

Tuesday sees the release of Paul S. Kemp’s The Old Republic: Deceived, which has been getting a fair amount of hype. (Say it with me: Gamers!)
