Out this week: Lost Tribe, Knight Errant and two Crimson Empire collections

There’s nothing new in the bookstores this week (unless you haven’t picked up the new Insider yet) but there’s plenty coming to your local comic shop on Wednesday.

For ongoing fans, there’s Knight Errant: Escape #4 and Lost Tribe of the Sith: Spiral #2. Or, pick your collected poison with Crimson Empire III: Empire Lost in trade paperback, or The Crimson Empire Saga – all three installments – in hardcover.

Beyond that, you can look forward to the paperback of Drew Karpyshyn’s The Old Republic: Revan on the 24th, and Pablo Hidalgo’s Essential Reader’s Companion on October 2.

Out this week: The latest Star Wars Insider

It’s time to start keeping an eye out for Star Wars insider #136. It contains interviews with Carrie Fisher and the folks behind the new Star Wars comic, as well as a short story by new-to-the-EU author Ari Marmell.

The newstand edition has a Boba Fett cover. Of course.

Our next book release comes on the 24th, with the paperback reprint of Drew Karpyshyn’s The Old Republic: Revan. Our next actual new release comes first thing in October, with Pablo Hidalgo’s Essential Reader’s Companion.

Out this week: The Sith Hunters

As expected, it’s a slow week for Star Wars releases. Comic-reading Clone Wars fans can look forward to something on Wednesday with the release of a new Clone Wars digest, The Sith Hunters.

Looking forward, our next few book releases are both paperback reprints: Aaron Allston’s Fate of the Jedi: Conviction (Aug. 28) and Drew Karpyshyn’s The Old Republic: Revan (Sept. 25.) The next actual new release will be The Essential Reader’s Companion by Pablo Hidalgo – which Del Rey kindly gave us a peek at last week – on October 2.

Out this week: X-Wing series returns with Mercy Kill

Tomorrow is the day… Aaron Allston’s X-Wing: Mercy Kill will finally be in stores. Entertainment Weekly has yet another excerpt.

We linked several of the early reviews on Friday, but the weekend brought one more by Big Shiny Robot’s Bryan Young. “The book kept my heart pounding and a smile on my face, which is the best I could ask for from a Star Wars book,” he writes… So far, so good!

Meanwhile, Wednesday will be good to comics fans, with both Knight Errant: Escape #3 and Lost Tribe Of The Sith: Spiral #1 due in the shops.

Out this week: Lost Tribe collection, new Insider

Of course this week brings a glut of Star Wars stuff. Of course. First up, on Tuesday, is Lost Tribe of the Sith: The Collected Stories… All John Jackson Miller’s Fate of the Jedi tie-ins stories that you may have read for free over the course of the series, plus a new one and, I hear, some maps.

It’s also the time to start keeping an eye out for Star Wars Insider #135, which includes Karen Miller’s Myri Antilles story, a tie in to next month’s Mercy Kill.

On Wednesday, get your fill of mostly-silent fanboy-favorite grunters with Blood Ties: Boba Fett Is Dead #4 and Darth Maul: Death Sentence #1.
