Cameos enrich Rebels’ character development, argues Ben Wahrman at Eleven-ThirtyEight, by giving the new characters “a known personality to bounce off of.”
Rebels Recon: “Idiot’s Array”
Lando came to town in tonight’s Rebels, “Idiot’s Array.” Does Lando lend a certain something to the show? Are we down with the canon pronunciation of “sabacc?” And how jealous are we of Pablo’s sweet VII jacket?
Behind the Celebration Anaheim poster, first look at badges
Behind the Celebration Anaheim poster, first look at badges. StarWars.com speaks to artist Craig Drake about his work for the con. There’s a Rebels variation, but I wonder how long we’ll have the wait for The Force Awakens one? (Presumably after we get a real teaser poster..?)
Billy Dee Williams brings Lando to Rebels
Lando Calrissian is probably Rebel’s worst-kept secret – particularly since the episode in question, ‘Idiot’s Array’ went up on the Disney XD site/app this morning. But, if you were waiting for official word, here it is via Entertainment Weekly: Billy Dee Williams is the latest to reprise his film character for the cartoon.
‘Idiot’s Array’ will air on Disney XD proper next Monday.
Rebels Recon: Inside ‘Path of the Jedi’
As Rebels returns with ‘Path of the Jedi,’ and some interesting implications for the galaxy (or at least the Jedi) as a whole, so does Rebels Recon. Next episode airs January 19, and will be online next week.
#WheresHera? (and sometimes Sabine)
#WheresHera? (and sometimes Sabine.) Guess who’s still missing from lots of Rebels merchandise? I guess folks really love us harping on this stuff, huh?
Video: Rebels returns with Frank Oz’s Yoda
Lucasfilm has released two clips from ‘Path of the Jedi,’ which will air on Disney XD next Monday, or is online to verified viewers now on WATCHDisneyXD.com. The episode features Frank Oz as Yoda, who you can hear in the second clip:
You’ll hear Yoda in the next episode of Rebels
Yoda, as voiced by Frank Oz, to appear on Rebels, TV Guide reveals today. Alrightly then. There won’t be a physical appearance, but you’ll hear his voice in the show’s next episode:
“I felt personally to keep Yoda as this disembodied thing it would confuse the audience less,” says executive producer Dave Filoni, who also directed the installment. “I didn’t want you to think Yoda could be teleporting from planet to planet.”
Rebels returns from hiatus with ‘Path of the Jedi’ on January 5th.
Rebels to marathon on the Disney Channel and Disney XD this weekend
The Disney Channel will run every episode of Rebels so far on Saturday, beginning at 11:20 a.m. They’ll run on Disney XD beginning at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 12:00 p.m. Sunday, concluding with ‘Inside The Force Awakens’ Sunday. It doesn’t have an actual slot on the schedule, so I wouldn’t expect anything in-depth.
Season 2 of Rebels to premiere at Celebration Anaheim
Season 2 of Rebels to premiere at Celebration Anaheim. Dave Filoni and the lion’s share of the show’s cast will be there as well.
