- Rebel Force:
Barnes & Noble is now listing the author for the upcoming Scholastic series as Robin Wasserman (and ‘Scholastic, Inc. Staff.’) At least this time it’s someone who actually exists! Of course, let’s add the usual disclaimer that this all may be a B&N/automated system burp and it’s clearly not official yet, etc. etc.Or not: B&N is now listing Alex Wheeler. - Faint praise: The New York Times seems a little miffed at The Force Unleashed topping their bestseller list. Though to be honest I can get a little ‘damn you kids, get off my lawn! about game-based things, too, so I can’t entirely blame them. (For those without NYT passwords, Sean Williams has a scan of the actual printed page.)
- Review: And since we’re on the topic of The Force Unleashed, SF Signal has reviewed the graphic novel adaption.
- Comics: Newsarama talks to The Clone Wars comic writer Henry Gilroy (via,) while DarkHorse.com previews Knights of the Old Republic #33.
Catching up with the Expanded Universe: Leland Chee, RPGing KOTOR, Rebel Force, Bookcrossing
- People: Wired has a hefty profile of Lucasfilm’s continuity guru, Keeper of the Holocron Leland Chee. (Who then blogged about it, naturally.) A must-read for all you fannish continuity savants!
- RPG: io9 previews the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide, which came out today.
- Upcoming: Amazon.co.uk is saying that newcomer Alex Wheeler is penning Scholastic’s Rebel Force series. Google doesn’t pull up any likely suspects and it is Amazon, so don’t assume this is for real yet – though if it is, my guess would be that ‘Alex Wheeler’ is somebody’s brand-new pen name. But remember, we still have yet to see any official announcement of this series to begin with, so nothing is certain. (via)
- Misc: Tracking a copy of The Empire Strikes Back novelization.
New Scholastic series spotted?
TFN user Jacenskylo has spotted a listing on Amazon.com for a series from Scholastic titled Rebel Force and scheduled for next January.
It is a critical moment in the struggle between the Rebels and the Empire: the Force itself hangs in the balance, and all the hopes of the galaxy depend on the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and a host of other heroes….
Scholastic moving away from the prequels? I’ll believe it… eventually.
