io9 includes Darth Vader in The Greatest Art Featuring 6 Iconic Scifi Villains. Some of it is fairly old hat (The Vader Project? So 2007!) but there’s always someone shocked by it. Besides, they have a brand-new spiffy robot chart as a consolation prize for those of us a bit too jaded for our own good.
Fan art: Stormtrooper Crossing the Alps
Napoleon Trooper is a mashup of Star Wars and Jacques-Louis David’s ‘Napoleon Crossing the Alps’ by James Baker and Julie Ashcraft. (See also: NASA Trek.)
Video: Star Wars/Boogie Nights mashup
NSFW, sorta/kinda. (via)
Videos: Videogum’s ten best lightsaber mashups
We’ve featured at least one of these before (not The Princess Bride) but who cares? It’s a bunch of geek classic movies (mostly) with lightsabers added. Go forth and enjoy. (via)
Saturday eye candy: Balakov’s Legos
Gorgeous and often hilarious, Balakov’s (aka Mike Stimpson) Flickr stream is well worth your time. His Lego recreations of famous photographs have been making the rounds, but his Lego Star Wars set is a can’t-miss as well. In short? Just go.
(You can even buy some prints, if so inclined.)
Disney Star Wars Weekends ahoy!
This Friday sees the first of several Star Wars Weekends at Disney World in Florida. The 501st will be there, as will several Star Wars celebs, and (of course) plenty of merchandise, like the crossover figures featured on the official blog today.

Fan Art: 1920’s Star Wars
1920’s Star Wars by Becky Dreistadt, penciler over at Combustible Orange. She doesn’t have any other Star Wars work on DA, but her gallery is more than worth a look.
The fandom minute: Sillof, cake, disapointment
- Gizmodo interviews Sillof, the action figure customizer responsible for WWII and Steampunk themed Star Wars figures, among others.
- Another day, another Star Wars cake.
- Heckler Spray counts down their top six disappointing Star Wars characters. I find #1 more overrated than disappointing, but at least it’s not who you’d expect.
