Mark Hamill wields a lightsaber again at Disney World
Mark Hamill wields a lightsaber again at Disney World. You’re welcome, Luklovers.
Mark Hamill on Disney, Episode VII, fandom and more
Mark Hamill talks Disney, Episode VII, fandom and more. He’ll make his debut Star Wars Weekends appearance later this week in Orlando.
Mark Hamill: “I would be the most reviled person on the planet,” if he had turned down Episode VII.
Mark Hamill: “I would be the most reviled person on the planet,” if he had turned down Episode VII. We already knew about he and Carrie Fisher’s Celebration lunch with George Lucas, but the quote about “angry townspeople with torches” is sadly probably true. Shameful, but true. This is not a gentle fandom.
Episode VII cast confirmed: Hamill, Ford, Fisher joined by Boyega, Driver, Isaac, Serkis and more
StarWars.com has announced the official cast for Episode VII. Star Wars alumni Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker will be joined by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
That is… A lot of guys. Sigh. The Wrap has a bit more on our new lady, Daisy Ridley, while The Hollywood Reporter has a breakdown of all the new-to-us folks.
And that second new female role? They may still be looking, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Ford, Fisher and Hamill spotted in London
Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have both been spotted in London in recent days. And on Sunday, Peter Serafinowicz tweeted a photo of himself with Mark Hamill, saying “Met up with @HamillHimself in London today. I wonder why he’s here.”
Hamill also appears to be growing out a beard.
WHAT COULD IT MEAN? I kid, we totally know what it (probably) means.
Hamill hasn’t tweeted since the 18th, but Fisher poked fun at the rumor on Saturday: “So my do dog Gary has been spotted in London, but apparently without me. Who has he been seeing? Let me know if you have any clues.”
UPDATE: I guess she found him, and the Daily Mail caught her out and about with Graham Norton.
Video: Birth of the lightsaber
In this nearly 16-minute featurette, George Lucas, Ben Burtt, and Mark Hamill talk about the aim, origins and uses of the iconic weapon throughout the saga.
Mark Hamill to make first Star Wars Weekends appearance
Mark Hamill will be attending his first Star Wars Weekend this year, Disney Parks announced today. He’ll be at Disney World June 6-8, or Weekend IV.
That seems like it could be right smack in the middle of Episode VII filming, so naturally the speculation has ramped up, confirmation or no confirmation. What does this say about his (presumed) shooting schedule? Could the details waiting to be revealed be waiting on casting announcements? So much buzzing, I’m getting a headache.
One thing is for sure: Lucasfilm and Disney can probably afford the airfare between London and Orlando, or Orlando and anywhere else. (We can say one thing: Hamill recorded a live podcast in Los Angeles on Tuesday.)
Video: Ten reasons to enter the Make-A-Wish contest
Mark Hamill has ten reasons to donate to Make-A-Wish and enter to win a chance to meet him, George Lucas and see Skywalker Ranch.
Highlights of Mark Hamill’s Reddit AMA
Mark Hamill had his Reddit Ask Me Anything this afternoon. Despite a late start and a brief troll issue, it seemed to go swimmingly.
He didn’t say much about Episode VII – sorry, no announcements! This was to promote the Make-A-Wish contest. Though of course he was asked about the Fisher report from the other day:
The only character I know for sure is returning is my friend R2-D2. He hasn’t stopped beeping about it.
And when pressed…
Haha. I’m not being coy, really. When I find something out, I’ll let everybody know. But nothing has been decided yet.
I don’t know if anyone actually believes that, but hey, it’s not like we can blame the guy for playing it cool. Below the cut, power convertors, facial hair, keeping secrets and much, much more.
