From Hutt-choking to impromptu family reunions, Heckler Spray has theirs. What are yours? We need a new argument to replace the tired old “your favorite episode” shtick. (via)
The fandom minute: Please don’t bring me the head of Jar-Jar Binks (and other freakiness)
- Weird: I’m not sure which of Bonnie’s finds is more disturbing: “A Love That Transcends Time, Space & Manufacturer” or Jar Jar Salad. Less freaky: Darth Tater’s Great Adventures.
- The ‘whine more’ files: Man sells his “faith in George Lucas” (aka a 12″ Darth Maul) on eBay for $23 Australian. (via)
- Lists: Speeder bikes are one of io9’s five scifi cycles to adore.
The fandom minute: The dark side of ‘I know;’ Vader vs. Q; Raise your kids on ANH; Cardboard Fett
- Comic: xkcd imagines Harrison Ford’s less-successful ad-libs.
- Poll: io9 has a villain cage match between Darth Vader and Q. So far? Q is winning. Go do your thing.

The fandom minute: Han in Cakeamite; Is it time for Star Wars to take a breather?
- Food: Han in Carbonite… The cake! Is that icing nontoxic? (via)
- The blogside: SF Signal’s JP Frantz claims that Star Wars needs to take a break to save the future of the franchise, and I’m not sure I entirely disagree… Meanwhile, Time’s Matt Selman calls for an end to easy Star Wars parodies.
- Collecting: Pete Vilmur looks at saving ticket stubs.
- Space: The European Space Agency takes inspiration from Star Wars for a new spacecraft. It looks like it would fit right in with the Rebel fleet! (via)

Star Wars ladies who won’t hesitate to kick your ass
Bettie Magazine counts down nine badass Star Wars women, including several from the Expanded Universe. It’s not particularly hard to guess who rightfully takes the top spot. (via)
Science Fiction’s best-dressed
I’m sensing a theme today! Tricia Narwani over at Suvudu counts down the Best Fashion in Science Fiction and Fantasy, including Leia in ANH. I’m clearly a bad Star Wars fan because I never noticed her white boots, but they are pretty bitching in that ultra-70’s-space-chic Alderaani way. (Major props to Narwani for not going for the slave outfit: It does have truly awful shoes.)
Also name-dropped: Battlestar Galactica, Harry Potter and the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I won’t lie to you: Her chain-mail battle dress in that movie? Most kickass.

The fandom minute: Yoda cat, fanboys, lists
- Weird: Yoda the cat has four ears!
- Fanboys: MTV wants to make fun of you! Or something. They went to TFN with a plea for fanboys between the ages of 16 and 28 for their show True Life.
- Lists: Dagobah is among Discover‘s ten best science fiction planets, while Topless Robot explores the ten most blatant Star Wars rip-offs.
Catching up with The Clone Wars: AP goes to the special hell, Henry Gilroy, defending the prequels
JadeCon is never a good time for real blogging, and so several stories over the last week got missed. Now that I’ve slept an entire night (and then some,) and taken a Claritin (damn you, con crud!) and am finally back in the land of working wireless, here’s some of The Clone Wars stuff that got missed:
- The AP came up with a real head-scratcher yesterday: Anakin Skywalker as a dirty old man. Now, let’s not pretend there won’t be any Anakin/Ashoka fanfic, but seriously? No.
- CBR has an interview with Henry Gilroy about Dark Horse’s Clone Wars line.
- Creative Loafing’s Fresh Loaf is defending the prequels from The Clone Wars. I for one would so choose to watch even The Phantom Menace over TCW.
- io9 had five things they want to see in The Clone Wars TV show. More Ziro? Umm…
