Far be it for MSN to miss out on that great trend of making lists. They celebrate the new TV season with a look at TV’s Greatest Geeks.
Apparently, geeks have been very recent. Only two nods to geeks of yore. Please direct all whining to their message boards.
Not surprisingly, Cracked’s list of eight most needlessly detailed Wikipedia entries starts off with a Star Wars item. Their reasoning: excessive listings of non-movie characters might encourage Lucas to make more movies. Sorry dudes: too late.
However, I am disturbed by their claim that the Seventh Heaven entry they point to is longer than The Simpsons. That simply cannot be – for one thing, The Simpsons, being an actual show of influence, has a variety of subpages – one for each of their eighteen (!!) seasons – that Seventh Heaven does not…
I’m thinking too much about this, aren’t I?
Trivia masters rejoice: Jeopardy! added a Star Wars category today. It’s already aired here (curses!) so I have to ask: just how obsessed does one have to be to make the $1000 question laughable?

The American Film Institute is having a poll to decide which of their 100 most thrilling movies will be screened for free at Hollywood’s Arclight on Halloween. Both A New Hope and Raiders of the Lost Ark are on the list.
Harry Potter passes James Bond as the film franchise that brings in the most bucks worldwide. Star Wars is #3.
According Variety, this is without taking inflation into account, and Star Wars is still champ domestically. Damn right.
George Lucas is becoming ‘increasingly involved’ with the Clone Wars animated series. Good? Bad? Gungan? Only time will tell! In other CW news, Disney really wants the broadcast rights.
