You call these lightsaber umbrellas? This is lightsaber umbrella.
Steampunk so hot lately
This custom-made steampunk lightsaber is pretty damn cool. But the really important question – what kind of sound would it make? A steam-hiss? (Thanks, Bonnie!)

Video Monday
Ryan vs Dorkman 2. Always two there are… an internet phenomenon and a sequel. The first one stood as the crème de la crème of the copious ‘fanboys with lightsabers’ genre, and this new one is pretty good, too. It even has funny, but does get a tad graphic (for Star Wars) towards the end.
- Beagle. Snoopy in the Battle of Yavin? Why not?
- Kevin Smith got made a Friend of the 501st at NYCC.
- Galaxies music video: Ice Ice Baby. Are stormtroopers dancing never not funny? I don’t want to know.
- Lightsaber battle montage.
Hasbro wants to see your saber
Hasbro is having a lightsaber video contest. Because there just aren’t enough amateur lightsaber videos on Youtube already.
Force FX for the shorties
Master Replicas has added Yoda’s lightsaber to their Force FX line. Collectors Society members can preorder it today; everyone else can on Thursday. It’s expected to ship in the spring, so we’ll probably get to see them in person at C4.
Another reason to go to Disney World
On Friday, a Build Your Own Lightsaber kiosk will debut at Disney World’s Once Upon A Toy Store.
Lightsaber infringers get lawsmacked
Lucasfilm filed suit today against High-Tech Magic, a Maryland company that makes unauthorized lightsaber replicas. After seeing the hideousness that is their website, I can’t say I blame them.
Something for everyone

Video Monday
Triumph of the Empire, an Imperial propaganda film entirely in LEGO. Inspired, obviously, by Triumph of the Will (which should be no stranger to well-studied fans,) when I first watched this I thought it was from the latest LEGO game, but apparently not. Amazing.
Speaking of LEGO… The Han Solo Affair. This one is done for LFL/LEGO – the company has also done Monty Python and Spiderman films.
Three in the Afternoon is a fanfilm about dorks with lightsabers. That doesn’t suck. (Trust me: Most of them do.)
There are a couple of Star Wars references in Weird Al’s latest video, ‘White and Nerdy.’ Are you shocked? I’m shocked.
