Marvel is entering December this Wednesday with the debut of Doctor Aphra #1. We’re also getting a flurry of reprint collections, with The Force Awakens adaptation and the complete run of Kanan in hardcover, plus Poe Dameron volume 1 and the newly-recolored A New Hope in trade.
Star Wars out this week: Kanan #12
The Rebels tie-in comic concludes with Kanan #12, in stores on Wednesday.
Star Wars out this week: Kanan #11
Waiting at your preferred comic retailer this Wednesday will be Kanan #11 – the series’ second-to-last issue – and the trade collection of the Chewbacca mini-series.
As for that C-3PO comic that’s been continually delayed, it’s going to press any day now and is expected for a March 30 release.
Star Wars out this week: Lords of the Sith in PB, Kanan #10
On Tuesday, Paul S. Kemp’s Lords of the Sith will be out in paperback. Wednesday brings one brand-new comic, Kanan #10, as well as second printings of Star Wars #13 and Obi-wan and Anakin #1.
Marvel’s Kanan comic to end with #12
Marvel’s Kanan comic ending with #12, per writer Greg Weisman on Twitter yesterday. Issue #9 is out today.
Star Wars out this week: Some movie, I hear?
First and foremost, yes, we’re getting the first Star Wars movie in a decade this week – a lucky few (hundred? thousand?) tonight in Hollywood, and the rest of the world a few days later, depending on your location.
But for our purposes, let’s look at Wednesday first, which brings the Darth Vader Annual, Kanan #9, and the Legends Epic Collection: Infinities, because Marvel heard you’d like some alternate universe in your alternate universe.
Now Friday is when things get really interesting, as not only is there a movie, but a whole bunch of books as well. For fiction, there’s The Force Awakens novelization by Alan Dean Foster (eBook only – the hardcover isn’t out until January 5) and Before the Awakening by Greg Rucka. For reference, Pablo Hidalgo’s The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary, The Force Awakens Incredible Cross-Sections from Kemp Remillard and Jason Fry, and of course, The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Star Wars out this week; Vader Down #1, Star Wars #12
Marvel’s first official Star Wars crossover event begins this Wednesday with the release of Vader Down #1. (It will continue in upcoming issues of Darth Vader and Star Wars.) Also in the shops this week, Star Wars #12 and Kanan #8, plus the trade paperback collection of Shattered Empire.
Star Wars out this week: Battlefront: Twilight Company, Star Wars #11
In a slight departure from all The Force Awakens buzz, Tuesday bring the novel Battlefront: Twilight Company by Alexander Freed. It has pretty good buzz from what I can tell, so if this is something that appeals to you, might as well go for it.
(Subscribers can expect the latest issue of the Star Wars Insider any day now. It contains the short story ‘Inbrief’ by Janine K. Spendlove, featuring a character from the novel. Non-subscribers… Well, it’s not on the shipping list this week, but soon.)
Meanwhile, Wednesday’s new comic is Star Wars #11. If you’ve been waiting for trades, look for collection of both Princess Leia and Kanan: The Last Padawan.
Star Wars out this week: Chewbacca #2, Kanan #7
Out this week: Star Wars #8, Kanan #5
Out on Wednesday at your retailer of choice are two comics, both milestones for their respective titles. Star Wars #8 is the start of both a new storyline (‘Showdown on Smuggler’s Moon’) and a new artist, Stuart Immonen. Kanan #5, on the other hand, is “the final chapter of the secret origin of Star Wars Rebels’ Kanan Jarrus.” (The series will continue with a jump into the Rebels era.)
Meanwhile, Force Friday looms ever closer…
