Okay. I’ve fallen a bit behind on all the Heroes news. Their casting office has been quite busy the last few weeks.
SyFy Portal has very kindly summarized the new cast additions for me.
Fans of Alias, Veronica Mars and Enterprise will be pleased.
Star Wars with occasional sarcasm

TV sci-fi has cred now. For the moment, anyway.
HEROES
Battlestar Galactica
AND THE REST
Of course there will be more Heroes. Apparently there will also be Origins, which will eventually send a character over to Season 2 of Heroes.
Tim Kring, show creator and writer, talks spin-off and looks back at Season 1 of Heroes.
Upfront season has begun, when the networks announce their programming for fall. First to bat is NBC, which is retaining the genre hit Heroes and giving it a spin-off, Origins, which will run in the same time slot in the off season (whenever that may be.) Among the brand-new shows is the Bionic Woman remake and Journeyman, in which Rome’s Kevin McKidd as a time-traveling reported, and Chuck, about a computer geek who becomes a government agent. Check out NBC.com for previews of the new shows.
All sorts of Heroes goings-on….
The inevitable “they stole my concept” lawsuit has emerged from two New York artists.
The kinda (but not really) spoilery stuff:
Malcom McDowell gets chatty about Mr. Linderman.
And Tim Kring tries, yet again, to warn us that everyone is expendable.
Swinging on to the March 5th (this Monday’s) episode of Heroes will be the new Spiderman3 trailer.
In related news, you will soon be able to get a weekly dose of Spiderman with the addition of The Amazing Spiderman to the Kids’ WB lineup starting in early 2008. Whether or not it will retain the snazzy opening music of the original is anybody’s guess.
And Kelly does the happy Spidey dance!
Don’t get too attached to your heroes from Heroes. Producer Tim Kring told Sci-Fi Wire that Season 2 will be a whole new story. And whether or not the current batch of heroes has anything to do with that story remains to be seen (assuming they even survive this season).
You can just feel the fan angst right now, can’t you?
Don’t you love the TV Critics Association Week? So many juicy tidbits:
Is Nicki/Jessica comparable to The Incredible Hulk? Producer Tim Kring says so in this article about Ali Larter, the actor who plays Nicki and Jessica.
In the ongoing stampede of Hollywood’s best coming towards the show, Malcom McDowell will be joining the cast.
The rather lovely Santiago Cabrera considers himself very lucky.
Hayden Panettiere and fellow geek Masi Oka also marvel at their own good fortune.
George Takei talks about the challenges of acting in the Japanese language, how he thinks they should give a shout out to Sulu, and SPOILER shares what he knows of his character, so far.
And producer Tim Kring says that we will actually have resolution to this story arc, but will not be able to get away from the inevitable cliffhanger at the end of the season.
In ongoing evidence that geeks continue to take over the world, there are several genre shows in TV Week‘s semi-annual Critic’s Poll of the Best and Worst in Television.
At the Number 2 spot was Heroes, followed by Lost and Battlestar Galactica at numbers 6 and 9, respectively.
Of interest to many Jaders is The Office (3) and The Daily Show (14) also made the list.
Happily, no geektitude made the Worst list.
And would it be sucking up too much to say that we look forward to the upcoming Star Wars TV series making this list in the near future?
SciFi Wire has posted a short news bit about an upcoming Heroes episode in which Heroes hero Hiro (yes, I’m doing this to be annoying) collides with Star Trek when George Takei guests on the show.
