Chewbacca is Entertainment Weekly’s fourth greatest sidekick of all time, proving that everyones loves a Wookiee. Other geek-friendly sidekicks include Samwise Gamgee (#7,) Ron and Hermoine (#11,) Willow Rosenberg (#17) and Silent Bob (#39.)
Harry Potter needs to die
Do it for the children, Jo. And while you’re at it, be sure to mention, in bloody detail, how Voldemort took out Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy JUST BECAUSE HE COULD.
But hey, at least it might end all the shipping wars.
Two to die in book 7
J.K. Rowling has said that two characters will die in the seventh and final
“The final chapter is hidden away, although it’s now changed very slightly,” she said in an interview broadcast on Monday on Britain’s Channel 4. “One character got a reprieve, but I have to say two die that I didn’t intend to die.”
When asked to be more specific, she added: “No, I’m not going to commit myself, because I don’t want the hate mail or anything else.”

SF Gate critic David Kipen gets some rather radical feedback over his less-than-positive review of Half-Blood Prince. It prompts some explanation of reviewing myths that are more than worth the click-through.
Pottermania Continues
Talk about being spoiled. Some idiots posted the big spoiler from the end of “Half-Blood Prince” on a banner over a motorway in the UK. Not even PG is that mean.
Pirated copies of the book are already for sale in Mumbai and apparently it is also available on the internet. What I want to know is who the hell can type that fast?
The Creator Speaks to the Fans!
Okay. We’re a bit biased towards Star Wars on this site. But we also have a lot of other fandom interests.
The one that is obsessing many of us lately is Harry Potter. So it is this Creator of which we speak.
JK Rowling (she who has launched millions of readers) invited the leaders of her two favorite fan sites to interview her during the release weekend festivities. The one-hour interview turned into two-hours that will be covered by both sites over the next week, or so.
Transcripts are the same on both sites, but reports are different. So we’ll just link you to the main page so you can catch up as you’re able.
Hear that George?
