A tribute to Andy Warhol by Mike Stimpson (aka Balakov on Flickr.)
The fandom minute: Dixie Cups, Jackson’s collection, fan art, Conan O’Brien, Yoda’s self-help debut
Collecting. Star Wars Dixie Cups of yore. Or, get a virtual tour of Michael Jackson’s game room/collection gallery, which includes some great Star Wars stuff.
Fan Art. Tom Whalen’s stylized Return of the Jedi poster.
TV. Conan O’Brien jokes about the Vader toaster. I’m just relieved that someone else is underwhelmed by it.

AT-AT art: Checking in with the HERD
Way back in November we spotted Adriean Koleric’s HERD, featuring repainted and altered AT-ATs and other familiar figures. His show wraps up on Saturday, so head to his site or under the cut for more pictures. Continue reading “AT-AT art: Checking in with the HERD”
The catchup: Links from Twitter
Here are some of the things I’ve micro-blogged over @clubjade in the past few days.
Simplicity itself. The most surprising thing about this figure is that they haven’t actually tried to market it yet.
Internet famous. I get the feeling I would appreciate this #SXStarWars craze more if my time moderating message boards hadn’t given me a complete disdain for line-by-line thread games.
Hey, it’s better than Anakin. Baby name fail! Or win?
Bad bad bad, wrong wrong wrong. Topless Robot has a regular feature called Fan Fiction Friday, where he rightfully skewers awful (usually ‘erotic’) fanfic. This week’s selection? A Jacen/Leia fic called ‘Sexual Situations.’ Yes, it’s awful. Yes, it’s explicit. But there’s snark! Still, if you click through that link, don’t you dare say I didn’t warn you.
Cleanse your brain. Star Wars lunchbag art!
Fan Art: Happy Valentine’s Day!
Han and Leia by Steph Swanger takes the Gone With the Wind pose back to the source. (I figure since in past years I’ve tormented you with twincest, photoshoppery, and Law & Order, it wouldn’t hurt to go traditional. Just this once.)

Etsy Scavenger: Star Wars art & decoration edition
Like any good Jawa, I go into Etsy looking for posting material and I come out with far too much. So this time, instead of throwing a huge list at you folks, I’m splitting it up. First up, art.
- Darth Vader Stained Glass Mirror by Terraza Glass, $145.00.
- Jedi terrier print by Brian Rubenacker, $12.99. (Also available: Chihuahua.)

- Stormtrooper LEGO mosaic by bricks2pics, $745.00. It measures in at 45 x 30 inches, which may explain the price.
Next set will be up Monday. Happy browsing!
LOTR fan art: Boting the rings
Just as Mattias Adolfsson set Star Wars back to the baroque period, he’s taking Lord of the Rings ahead with Bots of the Ring. Above, the NazguloBot Unit. (via)
Fan art: Star Wars Matryoshka Dolls
Artist Matt Brown hand-painted these Russian nesting dolls as Star Wars characters for his brother’s Christmas gift. (via)
Fan art: Andy Helms’ Dude-A-Day
Andy Helms has embarked on an illustration product to draw a Dude A Day, last year, and several Star Wars characters showed up in November. (via)
Yet more Star Wars My Little Ponies!
Great White Snark spotted even more Star Wars My Little Pony customs – Yoda and Darth Maul by DeviantArt’s Anime Amy. Most of her other ponies are indeed anime-themed, but she does have Godzilla, Davy Jones and (weirdest of all) an Optimus Prime ponies.
