Why the ROTS DVD will show up as “Charlotte” on your computer. Thanks to the DVD, rumors are also flying about a digital Yoda replacing the puppet in TPM.
And finally, TFN is reporting that John Hollis, who played Lobot in ESB, passed away last month.
Two days in a row… Apparently, there’s a DVD coming out or something?
Stormtroopers in Times Square to promote Battlefront II. NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared it officially Star Wars Day.
TFN tells us Brtish network Sky Movies has the rights to run all six films. Except TFN forgets to mention the whole British thing.
More pirated versions of ROTS will be turning up any day now. Entire internet says “duh.”
Starwars.com has posted Inside the DVD: Revenge of the Sith – details of the movie extras. Personally, what I need most? The actual movie. I can’t find a complete set of screencaps for the life of me.
Stores aren’t getting as many copies of Revenge of the Sith as they expect – Fox is limiting distribution to save on returns.
Great news!
Patty of the LJ community Ewan_Playground (and if you’re not already a member, why not???) received an email from LWR HQ saying the show would see a North American release before Christmas.
The US will get the seven episode version while Canada will get the extended ten episode one.
It’s not listed yet, but you can probably get the Canadian version at Amazon Canada or at Chapters/Indigo.
Hooray! Thanks Patty!
Clone Wars Volume 2 won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.
Dressing a Galaxy, an exhibit of costumes from all six films, opened today in Los Angeles. Probably too early to tell if the exhibit will tour.
Hyperspace members get a peek at the ROTS DVD. And finally, TFN reports that buying the DVD at Wal-mart will get you a bonus DVD.
Revenge of the Sith is the first major film that won’t be coming out in VHS – only a DVD version will be available. Mourning? (Why?) Here’s a Requiem for VHS. Good riddance, I say.
Revenge of the Sith DVD to drop November 1st. One of the featurettes explains the exact nature of the whole ‘Chosen One’ thing, which will no doubt set the fandom into a froth of argument.
(Bitter. Sorry. Read too many Dark Nest spoilers from the crazy zone this week. It’s hard to have any faith in fandom after visiting the TFN boards.)
Matthew Wood, Supervising Sound Editor of Episode III and voice of General Grievous, came on stage at Steve Sansweet’s Star Wars Spectacular and provided a demonstration of how he created the General’s voice, complete with sound equiptment. Fan reports have him actually have him singing a song – Hyperspace members can find out for themselves by listening to the audiocast of the event.
Steve also hinted at some of the content on the Revenge of the Sith DVD, and showed one of the deleted scenes dealing with the founding of the Rebellion. Certainly I’m not the only one hoping for an Extended Edition, ala Peter Jackson?
