In this week’s Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo takes us for a closer look at some of the galactic artifacts in Dryden Vos’ office. Plus, there’s an interview with Solo composer John Powell.
A new behind the scenes video has emerged at USA Today, showing some new aliens, droids, and more of Lando’s capes. It features Cinematographer Bradford Young, creature effects guru Neal Scanlan, costume designers David Crossman and Glyn Dillon, who reveal that Solo has the most costumes ever produced for a Star Wars film.
With a little help from a friend, Solo director Ron Howard answered some fan questions on Twitter this afternoon. Among the reveals: Composer John Powell has written the saga’s first theme for Chewbacca!
Solo ticket presales are doing well. Fandango (via Deadline) reports that the film sold more tickets in its first 24 hours than Black Panther. It’s second only to Avengers: Infinity War. Not bad for a movie “no one asked for.”
Empire magazine has two new Solo images today – one of Han during the Vandor heist, and a second of Dryden Vos in his sunny lair. There’s some showpiece-looking Mandalorian armor in the background, because of course there is.
→ The droid L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) is Lando’s sidekick. Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) and Val (Thandie Newton) are “career crooks,” while Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany) is a crime boss.
